Terrible for Warren, stuck at the kids table.

Warren is going to annihilate all those weaklings in the second group.

There's this though:

I'd argue that this is good for her for at least the first debate. Warren has the opportunity to go heavy on policy and her plans. Go really positive and set the tone for both debates. Then hope that in July to get the chance to contrast against someone like Biden.

Really, I can see it going both ways for Warren.

The positive outlook is that, if Warren can mop the floor with these rather low-tier candidates, she comes out looking like a star. It could be an easy debate for her, and one that generates a ton of news coverage.

However, there is another possibility. If Warren has a mediocre or poor performance in the debate, it probably takes a lot of the momentum out of her sails. Not to mention that not that many people will likely watch the Orange debate, so even a good performance by Warren may just get drowned out by talk of the Purple debate.

Either is a distinct possibility.

Warren's placement is not ideal, but I think it is much easier for her to "win" a debate with all of the lesser-known candidates. Plus it eliminates the risk of getting into significant disputes with the other high name recognition candidates, which could lead to a more positive reception and being seen as "above the fray."

If anyone got an ideal placement, I would say it would be Harris and Sanders. Biden probably got the worst possibility from this selection.

The 1st night is going to be boring. Sucks that Warren and Biden are not debating on the same night.

Wow this is really unbalanced. It's R1GGED against Warren by the c0Rpor8te DNC who sees her as the most dangerous anti-establ&shment candidate. They think they can contain Sanders, but are worried WARREN can unite the social & populist activist wings and threaten their r1ch donors so they R1GG8D IT! Evil Tom Perez

The Warren debate is more boring, but that's why they put it on first so it gets good ratings. Second night is gonna be a cluster and a lot of people are gonna come out looking bad.

Another source saying Warren's group will go first:

I'm curious about whether anyone in the June 26th debate will bother attacking Warren (as she'll be the leading candidate on the stage), or do they just ignore her and attack Biden even though he's not there?  (Remember when Jindal attacked Christie's record during one of the 2016 kiddie debates, because Christie was leader of the kiddie table?  lol)

Conceivably, there won't be much attacking of anyone in the first debate, even for the June 27th group.  First debates usually aren't heavy on attacks, because the trailing candidates want to leave a positive impression and aren't desperate yet.  But who knows.  Maybe Delaney and Ryan will lob some bombs at her.

Thought: if Warren throws a few bombs in the first debate, will that define the second debate night and force the other candidates to respond?

I’m pretty sure that if Warren becomes a domestic terrorist and kills or injures the Mayor of NYC, Beto, Tulsi etc. on stage, the other candidates will respond ...

It seems like there is a lot of opportunity for someone to stand out at the first debate.  The second debate has so many big names, it'll be hard for someone like Yang or Bennet.  But on the first night, maybe O'Rourke or Castro can get a good boost.

I feel like the first debate will be completely overshadowed by the second debate that everyone will just forget it. Warren could have a good debate that only gets talked Wednesday morning before Bernie v. Biden and whatever Pete or Harris does is what everyone talks about.

Warren being at the kids' table honestly does suck for a number of reasons:
1. She's not in there with Joe.
2. This will probably pull in less viewers, though I don't expect too many people, outside of us political junkies, to watch these debates at all. It's going to be pretty boring in comparison to night two.
3. It isn't like she really deserves to be at the kids' table either.
4. Quite unbalanced when four of the top five are up on one night.

Good things to come out of Warren's placement:
1. As already said before, she is the biggest name there and will probably outshine everyone else anyway.
2. It might be a cake walk for her especially when compared to what night two has.

Other good things from these debates:
1. Biden has a lot of competition. The main ones that we need to keep our eyes on are Sanders and Williamson. It will be challenging for him.
2. Lower-tier candidates that I do want to see how they carry themselves: Klobuchar, Inslee and Gabbard for night 1; Gillibrand and Williamson for night 2.
3. Sanders and Hickenlooper on the same night...
4. Interested to see what happens with O'Rourke considering how he was on top of the world for a little while.
5.Buttigieg will be interesting as well.

Warren should attack Biden during the first debate and force the second one to be about her.

Poor Beto. He'll be the sole target in Warren's line of fire.
