Breed is considered to be "moderate" by crazy SF standards, so it will be easier for her to be a statewide candidate, then candidate in SF-based district...

I see her winning statewide office in the future down the road.

Newsom went from SF Mayor to CA Lieutenant Governor & now the CA Governor's Mansion.

Maybe run for Governor in the future?

I don't think she would want to be a member of the House (a bit of a downgrade for the mayor of a large city), and a Senate seat in California is unlikely to open up in the near future.

Eh, Greg Stanton did that. I think there's a chance Pelosi hangs it up in the next couple cycles, so maybe Breed is her most likely successor in that case. Plus Feinstein's Senate seat will likely be open in 2024.

The SF Democrats are blocking legislation that add more housing in Los Angeles for the homeless. However, since Harris and London Breed are black, they transcend the racial gap and appeal to Los Angeles voters. Gavin Newsom was mayor of SF
