Are people actually suggesting primarying Cuomo from the right ITT?

If this actually happens say hello to Governor AOC or someone similar lol, because I guarantee you all that will do is split the centrist vote.

And Tonko makes 14, if I'm not mistaken.

Right, Democrats have so much integrity that they'll probably punish their own, as long as those punished are politically weak and easily replaced by other Democrats. Otherwise they'll just stop talking about it, as was the case with Virginia's Gov. Blackface Klansman and his partner in crime, Lt. Gov Serial Rapist.

Who do you think this is fooling?

Listen, I hate the Democrats too, but this is an incredibly stupid false equivalency, especially because Northam would be easily replaced by a Democrat (unless you think the Republicans have any chance at the governor's mansion in 2021 if there's le horrible scandal, in which case lol). Anyone with half a brain knows the only reason Northam is still in office is because he'd be replaced by Fairfax who is probably a r*pist. If like Andy Beshear or Roy Cooper have similar allegations and the Democrats turn a blind eye (which, to be fair, I could maybe see happening if Beshear and Cooper were as terrible as Cuomo) then this would be a fair comparison, but as it stands it's nonsensical. Meanwhile, even if your assertion were the case, the Republicans would still be worse; after all, Trump would have been easily replaced by a Republican and yet the GOP maintained a cultlike devotion to him.

There are a myriad of legitimate ways to criticize the Democrats, but this isn't one of them.

Unbelievable. Was never in love with Hochul but this is pretty atrocious. Too much is on the line with the NYCoA to throw away a majority. Hope LaSalle is not confirmed, but I'm not optimistic. Hochul should definitely face a serious primary challenge if she decides to run for reelection.

LaSalle had his committee hearing and vote today; he was rejected. Final vote was 2 aye, 10 nay, 7 'without recommendation' (which is sort of a soft Aye, it still results in the nominee being moved to the floor).

AYE - 2 (Sepulveda (D) and Thomas (D))
WITHOUT RECOMMENDATION - 7 (Bailey (D) and all six Republicans)

NAY - 10 (all other Democrats).

Hochul, reportedly, is now going to sue and try to get the judiciary to force the State Senate to take a floor vote.

I have zero idea why she has chosen to torch her relationship with the Senate like this. This is nuts.

So here are I think the plausible explanations; it could be some combination of these

1. She correctly realizes that her clout in Albany after she almost lost (while Ds held legislative supermajorities) is so low it's right next to Triceratops fossils and thought she needed to show the legislature who's boss; now it's too late to back down even though she obviously lost

2. She made some sort of deal with someone important, not realizing that the NY Dem machine is dead and she can't guarantee LaSalle's safe passage through the Senate at all

3. She bought the story that the progs caused her underperformance and wanted to pick a fight with them and caught organized labor in the crossfire

Completely abhorrent

EDIT: It passed pretty overwhelmingly though so she might get overridden?

What are the specifics of that bill? I either couldn't find an independent report or access was denied to EU copyright laws.

Would have allowed those experiencing emotional damage due to a wrongful death to seek damages in addition to people economically damaged

Stewart-Cousins says LaSalle doesn't have the votes even in a floor vote. Palumbo's lawsuit is being heard this Friday.
