Cuomo would crush Biaggi.

If AOC ran against him...that would be more interesting.

I'd put my $ on AOC at this point. She is not gonna do it though. Too cautious (which is why she'd do alright tho)

The only person left who I think could successfully primary Cuomo is Jumaane Williams, and that's only if he was willing (which the left so seldomly is) to go full scorched earth mode. Call Cuomo a murderer for his handling of COVID 19, make sure everyone knows it was Black and Brown people he was killing, highlight his relationship to Wall Street, maybe throw a few pictures of him with Trump into ads and say something like "Andrew Cuomo's Old Boys Club: It's a big one but you ain't in it."

He's not undefeatable, he's an actual moron. But most of his potential challengers are too (Cynthia Nixon stay home!)
Jumaane is running, nobody else (of significance) will.

And Cuomo will (very sadly) destroy him.

Janice Dean was on Fox recently with State GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy discussing the nursing home controversy:

Looks like the nomination is hers to lose.

Sure if they want to lose by more than they necessarily could

I remember last year there were some weird muttering about how Cuomo could serve as a compromise nominee if the primary went to convention cause of how well he handled the virus. How quickly things change.

That was a really stupid idea then too, and he was just as horrible. Now it's just more obvious. But you're right public opinion has finally changed.

Zeldin is either an idiot and prefers losing his future seniority for a doomed run, or knows that he will be gerrymandered out of existence anyway.

Rep. Zeldin, Rep. Stefanik, Marc Molinaro, Rob Astorino, and Andrew Giuliani have been invited to a Republican Party conference this week regarding the election. Prominent NYGOP/NY Conservative Party figures like Zeldin; but want him pushed further to the right.

They are complete idiots.

So it's Astorino vs Zeldin then? Should be an interesting map (upstate vs NYC/Long Island). I'd support Zeldin, not because he's better (he's vile), but to get him out of his house seat. Cuomo or any other Democrat would destroy either candidate. I still am skeptical Cuomo gets the nomination again, but he could.

If it's...

Cuomo vs Katko (has no chance at the nonination) I vote Katko

Cuomo vs Astorino I Write In Phil Scott

Cuomo vs Zeldin I Write in Phil Scott

I'd vote for just about any non Cuomo Democrat against the Republican

Pataki reportedly interested.

I'd vote for him (probably) over Cuomo, not that I'd ever vote for Cuomo. It's just a question of the Republican or a write-in.

Stefanik is future House leadership. She will not be making a suicide run for Governor.

This helps to explain why she's moved so far-right in the past few years. It's an effort to curry the favor of the Republican base, and to consolidate her support among her colleagues for when she eventually makes her leadership bid.

I think it'll backfire on her. She didn't have much of a profile before, but since she's become so vocally awful, NY Dems have a good reason to nuke her district.

I'm pretty sure nuking her would be inefficient.

I am officially ANTI ENDORSING Williams. Everyone should oppose him, he is the worst possible candidate.

Edit: eeehhhh Suozzi might be worse. Luckily you don't have to vote for either of them.

The most obnoxious trademark of what now passes for the left in this country from Williams' statement is the claim that the lack of a "viable remote school option" constitutes a policy failure. As if the logistical issues, family problems, and learning deficits involved in remote learning were trivialities that we could fix in two years if only we had the right political leadership. What planet is he tweeting from?

Agreed. "Viable" remote learning is a fiction. What you are doing is eliminating useful public education, there are not go arounds.

It's incomplete, but it's landslides for Hochul and Delgado.

Republican primary looks very interesting, Andrew Giuliani benefitting from his Dad's name with old NYC Republicans?

Looks like Zeldin should be fine, he's running up insane margins in Long Island and there's very little in.

There is no massive "Zeldin" momentum. Some low quality polls from Trafalgar, McLaughlin & Associates, and Schoen Cooperman and everyone's freaking out. All incredibly contrived. The only relevant data-point is the Siena poll showing a tightening....to an 11 point gap. Hochul will win, she will win by double digits. Enough. It's possible that Zeldin matches or over-performs Astorino 2014. Zeldin has definitely improved his standing since last month. Zeldin is doing well. But for Pete's sake if someone says "Zeldin might win" again...

It’s not a real possibility. Hochul will win easily but, at least in my circles (NYC liberals mostly) there is no enthusiasm for her and people generally don’t think highly of her. I imagine almost all will still vote for her though.
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I'm not enthusiastic about Hochul but I'm still voting for her (and Democrats straight down the ballot).

May I ask what's your explanation why some apparently not that thrilled about Hochul?

To me it seems that she has done a good job including a few legislative wins during her short period of time in the driver's seat. She's also the first woman as governor and ideologically pretty much in the mainstream of the party, neither a DINO nor far-left. Hochul generally strikes me as a likeable personal capable of connecting with average people. In my opinion, she deserves a strong mandate.
Not too many people care that she's a woman. She's very generic, and is associated in the minds of many with repressive covid restrictions.
She is not.

WHAT

It's definitely easy to see, from her performance in this debate, why Hochul could very well be upset by Zeldin.

That quote is literally fabricated. You aren't even watching the debate this is so incredibly dishonest. You are not being honest, you are not being even handed, and its showing.
