Cuomo is such a blatant democratic answer to Trump that if this was fiction I'd call it lazy writing. Both are blatantly narcissistic and sociopathic sex pests, but above all else, renarkably stupid people. Their political programs are built on the same foundation - make life worse for everyone to own the other side. As such, it shouldn't be shocking that they both cultivated cult like and conspiritorial followings among the dumbest members of society. Thankfully the Democratic base seems by and large more resistant to this sort of inanity, and so you don't get anything on the scale of the MAGA cult, but the GOP (not for a lack of trying) doesn't have a monopoly on idiocy, and so you'll get people like this protesting to let Fredo keep grabbing staffers and killing the elderly because they're worried if he doesn't Republicans will magically install a puppet regime in New York, pardon Trump, and end life as we know it.

Hochul will be the first truly upstate governor in almost exactly 100 years.

She's the first NY governor from Buffalo in 136. Last time the state's most important city won the governor's mansion was Grover Cleveland. Hawaii has had more governors from here in the mean time

It's definitely easy to see, from her performance in this debate, why Hochul could very well be upset by Zeldin.
