The GOP listens to the NeverTrump base and rebukes the party nomination from Trump, giving it to Ted Cruz. Cruz selects Fiorina as his running mate, still beating Clinton/Kaine after the most horribly ran campaign in modern politics.

Yeah, Ted Cruz is terrible at campaigning, O'Rourke's candidacy was about Cruz's weaknesses not O'Rourke's strengths

This, you have made like 3 maps recently that depict this.

Why? It's a possibility.

The last time it happened was 1916. Ohio has voted to the right of PA and WI in every recent election.

358-180, 2012+AZ and NC. GOP turnout drops seriously, high Trumpist third party vote in states like MO and WV makes those states have a net D swing - WV has 3+ Clinton counties.

Agree that substituting Cruz for Trump post-10/7 results in a drubbing for the GOP.

If the Access Hollywood tape had come out before Iowa, however, I think Cruz would have won the nomination and the general election.

Hillary landslide.

If you think pushing aside the nominee just weeks before the election in favor of somebody who lost the primary would play well with the voters, you're absolutely delusional. Not to mention thousands of Trump supporters who would bolt the ticket.
