An absolute tragedy. Might not have agreed with him on everything, but he rebuilt the Labor Party after the Whitlam fiasco, created Medicare, was a big-time supporter of equal pay for women, supported Aboriginal rights and did his damndest to eliminate poverty in Australia. I'm privileged to attend the same university he did.
