If the gop doesn’t do well in these races tonight, what will that mean for 2020 and trump?

Nothing, if Bevin loses it's his own doing and in any case, tonight will be long forgotten by next year.

If the Rs lose KY, we might see some Senators become more open to impeachment

I'm thinking a 4 point win for Bevin.

Lol, Beshear with 72% in Elliott and outperforming his 2015 numbers in every county that’s reported so far.

DDHQ has beshear leading in Floyd (SE) 2/42 precincts 280-160 votes, and 1/44 preincts in Franklin (Frankfort) 645-281 votes.

Also notably that Stumbo is underpreforming Beshear by quite a bit in every county, suggesting Beshear is getting some serious crossover.

Bevin is smoking it so far.

EDIT: Ok, now it's narrowed slightly for Beshear.

I will be so happy if Bevin does lose. Perhaps Kentucky is not entirely gone for the Democratic Party. And in spite of all my talk about "polarization", I was very happy when Joe Manchin managed to win reelection last year. So don't anyone think that I'm set against Democratic victories in these states.

But it's still early, so we'll see what happens.

I recognize that it's very early, but Beshear seems to be overperforming all his benchmarks...

Don't look now, but if the DDHQ map holds (unlikely), and is a early indicator (this is the first precincts though) this may be a case of Beshear getting BOTH the suburban swing and getting a swan song in the rurals.

I don't think Beshear was supposed to outright win Menifee County.

I suspect even if Beshear loses, this is going to be the story of the night. Serious crossover going on, some Republicans really don't like Bevin and are giving Beshear their vote but going red on everything else.

All of Lawrence County is in -- Beshear has 42.3% of the vote there. Outperforming his benchmark by about 5%.

EDIT: Well, maybe the NYT page was wrong. Lawrence is back down to 1 precinct of 18 reporting.

I'm utterly astonished at Bevin's performance in rural areas, given what I thought were the trends that could be taken away from NC-9 special. But, even in these days I guess, the most unpopular governor in the country just can't shake that. I always had Beshear winning by the way.

Bevin is gonna win. The exit polls do show some good signs for Beshear but Bevin will still win.

Exit polls?

Meaning voter turnout, sorry for the mis characterisation.

Every county that supposedly has 100% reporting was an error, wait a bit for saying that its all in, even in the small rurals.
