Today, Denver is voting in a referendum to decriminalize Magic mushrooms. Don’t think this is just War on Drugs backlash. From the article I linked:

Quote
A study in 2016, found that a hallucinogenic chemical in magic mushrooms shows promise for people with untreatable depression.

As an aside, Colorado and Washington became the first two states to legalize cannabis, doing so via a statewide referendum. Since then, 8 other states legalized the Schedule 1 drug for recreational purposes , and 33 states now have legalized medical cannabis, despite being designated by the government as having no medicinal value. Drug laws can change rapidly. I think it’s great to seek all possible treatments for depression, anxiety, and PTSD. What do you all think?

https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2019/05/09/721660053/in-close-vote-denver-becomes-first-u-s-city-to-decriminalize-psychedelic-mushroo - the referendum narrowly passed with 50.4% of the vote! I wonder if this will lead to the next wave of states voting to decriminalize previously illegal Schedule 1 drugs. The article mentioned that organizers are trying to get a similar ballot for the 2020 presidential election in Oregon and California.

LoneStarDem, not sure if it affected the mayoral race, but that’s going to a June runoff.

Sweet. Psychedelics are great for personal and spiritual growth.

Why?
