Announcement regarding the Construction of Airbases in Eastern Europe

I am happy and excited to announce that I will be holding a summit in Oslo, Norway on April 28th with the nations of Poland, Latvia, and Romania regarding our proposals to build airbases in their territories. It is my hope and belief that this will be a productive meeting that will produce an agreement all sides benefit from and are happy with.

Announcement regarding India

Before I get to the big issue of the day, I'd like to commend the Senate for passing the Treaty of Recognition and Security between Latvia and the Republic of Atlasia.

Anyhow, on to the official business of the day.

I am pleased to announce a summit between Atlasia and India. The summit will take place on the dates of June 16-June 19. The President and myself will definitely be in attendence, and I have extended an invitation to First Minister Scott of Fremont (note this is far from a final list, I fully expect more people to end up going). At this summit, as part of the plans I laid out when I was nominated for this position, we will reach out to the Indians and attempt to forge deeper economic and diplomatic ties. These ties will serve Atlasia's interests well, and given the geopolitical situation on the ground in the region, I expect the summit to be very productive.

Last week, the nations of Atlasia and India held a very productive summit. During this summit, we discussed ways of moving our two nations closer together, including but not limited to Atlasian investment into Indian infrastructure projects, permanent Indian membership of the P5 of the UN, a treaty affirming the 2 nations commitment to furthering relations, and a series of cricket games between the 2 nations's national teams.

Statement on the United Nations Vote

July 4, 2019

Atlasia is disappointed by the outcome of the United Nations vote to block permanent Indian membership of the Security Council. While we are disappointed by the vote's failure, Atlasia is still pleased that 3 of the 5 permanent members (Atlasia, the United Kingdom, and France) supported Indian membership. Lastly, despite the failure of this vote, Atlasia will continue to push for permanent Indian membership in the future.

I am extremely pleased to announce that all 1,205 Atlasians who were in Wuhan were successfully evacuated before the quarantine kicked in. They have been taken to Guam where they are being screened, and soon they will be home.

Statement on events in Paflagonia

December 30, 2020

The Government of Atlasia strongly condemns the events in Paflagonia. We reaffirm our support for a peaceful democratic transition in Paflagonia. We call for the immediate release of Acting President Baer and of all opposition forces captured by the government. We will continue to support the Acting President, and will do everything in our power to assist the opposition. We condemn also the killings that took place, including of former President Helmut Kohlwurst. These killings, and the events in Paflagonia in general were not just an attack on the citizens of Paflagonia, but the citizens of the world. They were the actions of a scared despot, who knows that his time is limited. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Via the events of yesterday, the government of Paflagonia has shown its commitment to the path of injustice. It is our purpose to remedy these events and institute a fully-functioning democracy.
