Ik this doesn't sound like it makes sense but I hope a strong independent jumps in because I think it's more likely we get democrats who would vote for Colin's showing up and voting for a Indy and they might rank the democrat above Collins. What do you think? Does a third party help or hurt Collins with rcv or no effect?

To this day, I still do not understand why Collins decided to commit the biggest political suicide in recent history by voting for Kavanaugh. She could have fully and completely ensured herself a successful re-election by voting against Kavanaugh, but instead, she decided to fully and completely ensure herself a failed re-election.

Counterfactuals are never that straightforward.
Imagine she had opposed him. As the key vote, Manchin would be under phenomenal pressure to refuse Kavanaugh.
The backlack probably loses him his seat in 2018, and the GOP now sits on 54, still without certainty regarding Collins.

Manchin would have won by an additional 4 points beyond his actual margin if he voted against Kavanaugh. It would not have hurt him at all.
Based off what exactly?

Watched the debate Linn was awful and annoying and hilarious lol. Collins asking Gideon if she would vote for Roberts was an extremely annoying dodge from the criticism  she was getting for the Kavanaugh vote. I thought Savage and Gideon did incredibly well and would make amazing senators my endorsement for the race has changed tentatively to
1. Savage
2. Gideon
3. Collins
4. Linn
