That coalition is long gone. Warner’s victory map next year is going to look a lot like Kaine’s from 2018. In fact I could see Warner doing even worse than Kaine in SWVA since Trump will be on top of the ballot. The days of Dems cracking even 40% in those counties are behind us.

However, at the same time I could see Warner getting record numbers in NOVA, the Greater Richmond Area and Hampton Roads. We’re going to start seeing some rigid D East v. R West divides in VA soon, especially on the congressional level.
