There is still about 25% left to report in Dane County and they've already surpassed the turnout of last year's spring election primary (which included the primary for Madison mayor) and the spring election from 2017. Probably will easily pass 2018. Could get close to 30%.

Not going to hit 30%, must have been some small precincts left that got counted. Might get to 25%.

Dane always does that. Madison has a bunch of micro precincts that are always among the last to report for some reason.

Why did Evers wait so long before trying to play the executive order card if he was going to do it in the end? Even doing this two weeks ago could have helped prevent some histrionics and allowed fro better contingency planning.

Karofsky looking ahead at this point: the part of Dane in is just outlying areas. None of Madison yet. The rurals look weak for Kelly also. Possible the smaller cities are earlier reporting than outlying towns.

Karofsky tied in Outagamie is concerning for Kelly, as are a number of things.

Or Kelly winning Marathon by only 3 points with 100% in.

I'm not seeing where it's 100% in. The Marathon County Clerk's office still is at 94%. But either way it looks bad for Kelly. He should be netting 5.3k votes there, not 2.2k.

NOW marathon has finished counting, and DDHQ has imputed the correct numbers. This is the only county that has finished counting.

53.47% Kelly, 17672 votes: +1190 votes,

46.53% Karofsky, 15379 votes: +4109 Votes

Net swing of ~5.5% swing towards the liberals from 2019.

It's unlikely to matter, but the Marathon County Clerk's website has those same numbers but still thinks they're missing 6 precincts.

Legislative Republicans’ latest power grab: they want to eliminate elections for SOS, Treasurer, and state superintendent and have them be appointed positions subject to confirmation which they can obstruct.

https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/2021/09/29/wisconsin-republican-lawmakers-want-superintendent-treasurer-secretary-state-appointed-not-elected/5914924001/

Why stop at those offices?  Why not make the AG appointed as well?

Probably because it has actual responsibilities unlike SoS and Treasurer. Voters, however, seemingly don't want to give up the ghost on them regaining importance apparently.
