As of 3/1, the City of Madison had 175,588 registered voters. That is probably higher now given the natural increase in voter registration as you get close to an election and same day voter registration.

On 4/4 Madison reported they had 46,548 returned absentee votes (so it should be much higher now).

Using those two numbers, we can get the imperfect number of 26.5% of Madison voters had their ballot in by last Saturday.

Is Dane the only county that has numerous polling stations open? And by numerous, I mean the largest %?

Republicans are very reliant on Waukesha in Supreme Court elections, even more so than in other elections.

Yeah, Democrats do better in all 4 of the Milwaukee metro counties than liberal Supreme Court candidates. Interesting enough, liberal Supreme Court candidates have tended to do better than Democrats in the Southwest part of the state.

I’ve always thought of Brown as a pretty good bellwether, but I could be wrong.

Door county tends to be more bellweather-ish, but nothing about this election is typical in any way. So, who knows what will happen?

P.S. Congrats on your 10,000th post!

Thanks! Smiley

I know Brown leans Republican in statewide elections, but doesn’t it lean less Republican in Supreme Court elections since (as Gass already alluded to) coalitions are a little different in general?

And yeah, obviously I wouldn’t read too much into this election for obvious reasons.

There's a report on twitter from Green Bay which has two voting locations. Voters in the beginning of the line have waited three hours and a voter just left at 4:40PM and was voter 535.

That does not appear to be good turnout but there is still an hours long line so who knows.

It's pretty outrageous that Results won't be released until the April 13th! Even CA, who had 5 Times more Absentee Ballots managed to get Results up.

The WI GOP Party should petition an injunction to the WI SC demanding Results to be released!

It wasn't a state court that ruled the release date to be 4/13.

It doesn't matter! The In-Person Vote Results from today should be released - Period!
Then you can add the VBM Vote just like CA did! Witholding any Results for a week is complete nonsense in my view.

If lines are as long as these anecdotes imply, possible that voting will not end until hours after the official closure time.

The Wisconsin Election Commission's interpretation of multiple federal court orders disagrees with your view.

Considering how insane and chaotic this election is, can we agree to autoban anyone who tries to use the Supreme Court results to extrapolate to anything?

We’d probably be banning at least a third of the site if we did that.

Anyway, WI Republicans are one of the worst state parties in the country, and probably think less of democracy than numerous autocrats in the world. News at 11.

I voted at my polling place in Beaver Dam because I never got my absentee ballot. The whole place smelled like Lysol and workers were disinfecting every pen and station. Only 2 others were there when I voted.
