There is probably a very specific location in Florida that would be the best option, but I would hate to live in such a HP state. I guess Texas.

1. California - I know it's expensive and all, but living in SoCal would totally be worth the expense.

2. Texas - Lots of jobs in commodities trading related to energy, which would be totally lit for me. Also lots of neocons.

3. Florida - I would love to live somewhere tropical, so Miami would be great.

4. New York - NYC would be cool to live in I guess, also tons of career possibilities on Wall Street. However the climate is bleh to me and it's even more expensive than SoCal. I wouldn't want to live upstate either.

Each of these states has great as well as abysmal places to live, and they're each diverse enough that it's hard to produce a ranking.  I find all possible rank combinations justifiable.
