Appointment of Deputy Archivists

My fellow Atlasians,

I come to you in a dark time for the National Archives. The Wiki was gone for a small period of time, only to return without the possibility of editing! Thankfully, President Tmth is working on this with Dᴀᴠᴇ, and it should be sorted in no time at all.

In the meanwhile, I will announce who I've appointed to serve as Deputy National Archivists, or the people who will help me maintain the wiki:

Suburban NJ Conservative of New Jersey

Vern of North Carolina
YE of Nevada

Thank you to the individuals who signed up!

Their formal terms will end along with the current presidential term, at the beginning of July. At that point, the incoming National Archivist (assuming it isn't me) or returning National Archivist (assuming I'm kept on the job) may re-appoint them to their positions. I'm doing this to make sure the National Archivist has to make a conscious decision on their deputies, as opposed to just maintaining whatever is in place because it's easier.

Can you explain the logic behind appointing 1 people who doesn't have access to the wiki at all (S019), 1 person who has made a grand total of 12 edits total (Vern) and 1 person who hasn't made a single edit on the Wiki in 6 months (OneJ)?

ASV, I told Razz that I have access to wiki and will be willing to help if needed. Unlike you, most people don't just go edit things in wiki, unless they are asked to.

Good morning Atlasia,

Many wonderful Atlasians—public servants who have dedicated time to updating the Wiki (and thus preserving our nation's history)—continue to lack edit access. This even includes your wonderful National Archivist, who is currently typing this post. Truly, this is (still) a dark time for the Archives.

Regardless, we will stay positive! President Tmth has kept me up-to-date on his conversations with Dᴀᴠᴇ, and I trust we will achieve progress. As for the business of today: I want to announce publicly that you may request edit access on this thread. Please post below if you believe you can do your part to help keep the Wiki accurate and easy to understand! (EDIT: see below!) If you choose to help out, please remember to work with the Deputy National Archivists (listed above), since they're in charge here.

FEDERAL STATUE UPDATES

Razze is busy with finals so I am focusing on trying to get the federal statue updated. By my calculations, here is what is needed:

4th Congress: No bills listed in red, I am assuming more were passed but aren't listed. Would require finding the WH thread and adding them all - Sestak

5th Congress: 4 bills need added
6th Congress: 10 bills need added - Sestak
7th Congress: 6 bills need added
8th Congress: 14 bills need added
9th Congress: 9 bills need added
17th Congress: 3 bills need added - Tmthforu94 and Suburban NJ Conservative

In total, there are at least 46 bills known that need to be added in. How I do a bill update (if someone has a more streamlined approach, please share): Find the template of a completed law and paste that into the incomplete law. Find the WH thread for that session, in the WH thread it will hopefully have the final text of each bill, add that in and base formatting off of template for sections. The links to House and Senate debate should be in the post that is presented in the WH. You will need to click on the threads to find the sponsor. If anyone needs assistance, please reach out.

I will take care of finishing the 17th Congress. I am asking for at least 6 volunteers to take a session of Congress. Please post in here what session you will take and I will update above. If we fill it up, we can divide up the 6th and 8th to have multiple people access. Also, please post in here when your session is completed so we can cross it off the list.

Many have bitched and moaned about not having Wiki access in the past. I helped back in February and again last month to get quite a handful of you access, and thanks to Virginia's work on the backend, I know access was restored for many people who previously didn't have it. Now is your chance to make good use of it!!! Please take some time to help out this game by updating the statue. This is needed long-term, and the longer it is put off, the harder it will be.

Once this is completed, I would like to look at indexing the Wiki by law topic. As we progress, we'll have more and more Atlasians and leaders of the game who haven't been here since the start of reset, and I think it would be incredibly helpful for new people to see what has already been done for when they craft their own agenda and policy goals.
