I don't think so simply because of the timing. It was way to late in the campaign.

There might have been a minor bump one way or the other, but nothing to which affected the overall end result of the race.

Probably not in any significant way.

NO, Kilgore was losing before Bush showed up (in fact, Bush's trip was a direct response to Kilgore's weak showing).

Your boy Arnold knew that appearing with Bush would have been bad news for him. Imagine how his Props would have done if Bush had campaigned for them. LOL.

The difference is that Arnold is in California, while Kilgore is in Virginia.  I agree that a hearty Bush endorsement of Arnold's propositions would probably have been their death knell (not that they needed one), but I doubt that Bush's campaigning for Kilgore did much of anything.  It evidently didn't do much in Kilgore's favor, but I don't think it hurt much of anything, either.

No, not at all.  The media had almost zero time to cover the event.  He came in to fire up the base and that was that.  Thankfully it didnt work.  Id say it had minimal to absolutely no effect either way.

Probably just had a negligible impact either way. The truth is Kilgore was just so awful, and couldn't light a torch to Warner, that Virginia wisely rejected him and elected Warner's Lt. Gov

Warner is going to be a hard act to follow and Kaine was the better bet for continuity

Kilgore was hurt by refusing to take a stand on taxes and guns.  Realizing he'd sell them out his base went for Kaine who tried really hard to make up for his past.  Having Bush here neither helped nor hurt.  It reinforced what the base already knew, that we'd have more spending and more government.  However the Bush zombies were energized.  There are equal numbers of these folks.

It didn't do anything at all, as Kilgore's loss in the Southeast shows.

No.

Bush knew that popping in at a late date would do nothing to impact the election.  He showed up because, he knew that if Kilgore lost, he'd be blamed for the victory.  By showing up, Bush could have taken some credit had Kilgore won.

Both Kilgore and bush knew a W cameo wouldn't effect the election.
