He's great! Unlike Trump he supports social conservatism and is fighting the indoctrination and lies that are being spread by the radical left in the public school system.

Of course our resident anti vaxxer would believe that nonsense.

Nonsense? The actual nonsense is the propaganda being spread in the public school system! They're teaching that there is no difference between boys and girls, all whites are racist, and that Trump is literally Hitler!

Yes, and fluoridation of the water supply is how (((they))) are controlling us.

An unholy fusion of Trump and Pence, as if each of them wasn't horrid enough in his own right, already cracking down on factual history by trying to revise the military dictatorship period.

I don't mind him potentially pulling out of the Paris agreement at all. On the other hand, destroying the Amazon rainforest with a lasting impact would be extremely negative. It would be a real shame if his presidency endangered the forest's biodiversity. This is certainly one of the potential aspects of his presidency that I'm not as positive about, to put it mildly. But we'll see what happens.

Why? How does the views of somebody effect your personal life?

You don't have to impact my life to be a terrible person.

F*** this guy so hard. Of all the world's awful authoritarian leaders, he somehow manages to be at the tippy-top of the worst list.

Why do you only have a problem with right wing authoritarianism? Why is it okay for left wing authoritarians to be in power but not right wing authoritarians?

Why are you defending authoritarians at all?

I'm not. They are all terrible in their own ways, but Bolsonaro got legitimately elected and in becoming an authoritarian he looks as if he will cause the most transitional damage to what as once a large and (mostly) successful republic. This is unlike other authoritarian leaders across the political spectrum where authoritarianism was already the status quo.

Being a socialist in general defends the idea of authoritarian policies. In order to enforce socialist policies, you need a big authoritarian government.

What happens when you combine schizoid anti-vaccination theory, pre-depression economics, incel-level biological determinism, and fetishizing social economic hierarchies which you would be at or near the bottom of.

Makes me not want to visit Brazil. Not because I am afraid of the guy or his henchmen, or any sh**t like that but rather because any country that elects someone like Bolsonaro by such a wide margin must be filled with bigots or those with serious moral or intellectual defects. When you go to a place filled with people like that, you have to be careful that you won't get mugged, stabbed, or ass raped or something weird like that.

You think I am heckin' around here but that is EXACTLY how many foreigners see  our country today. They don't want to come here to take it in, to study, or even to work because they say to themselves "if they just elected someone like Trump who has done all these things and believes in all those things, who are these people and can they really be trusted? I am not sure I would be safe there with all that white trash running around there."

Funny. What "makes me not want to visit Brazil" is the extraordinary amount of violent crime, which is a big part of the reason Bolsonaro was elected. Hopefully he'll root it out and I can visit Rio in a couple of years.

There are very few differences between libertarian socialism and capitalism.

What happens? What happens is that people have the right to choose what to do with their bodies, the economy becomes more resistant to a recession, people understand the FACT that there are only two genders, and a capitalist free market is encouraged.

You’re confused. Nothing going on in Brazil is encouraging any form of consensual behavior on any level. Have no idea how you came up with that. Have no idea what you mean by “two genders”. Do you mean two sexes? Stalin’s economy was “more resistant to a recession”, too. That statement doesn’t mean anything. You really have no clue about what you are talking about or have a hidden agenda. It’s as simple as that. Maybe I’m wrong. I’d give it about a 50% chance you have no idea what you are taking about. This could be that you are suffering either from a classical Dunning-Krueger situation or are coping with childhood emotional, physical, or sexual trauma. I don’t know. My brother’s a therapist. I am not. There’s about a 40% chance you have a “hidden” agenda, and about a 10% chance that I just am not privy to some great well of wisdom that I am either not open minded or intelligent enough to understand. If that’s obviously the case, try to explain this all like I’m in the third grade. If you can’t, I can rule this possibility out.
