I would love to see Tom Cotton win the nomination, since he's dumb as a brick and lacks Trump's ability to charm the masses.
Also, I think that by 2024 Trump fatigue will be at maximum levels, and a more diverse electorate with fewer Boomers will make things very difficult for a Trump acolyte to win. The GOP can remain in the clutches of far-right nationalism and get blown out, or they can return to reality and expand their appeal.
There is one candidate who could bridge the gap from Trumpism to traditional, movement conservatism, retaining a strong base during the pivot: Mike Pence.
