No charisma, but also her the abusive boss stuff came out just as she launched--and the media didn't give her a chance to recover from that.

Simply put, she is just too dull. I'm usually someone who doesn't care about how charismatic or exciting a candidate is, but even I can't help but zone out when she speaks. In addition, she is far too cautious with the policies she advocates for, even as I appreciate their practicality. But that's part of a bigger issue where she doesn't quite have a signature message like the other female Senators running have, especially in a packed field like this. She seems to be relying on her alleged Midwestern appeal like Tim Ryan. Actually, she kind of is like the female Tim Ryan. Her also being an abusive boss also doesn't help.

To be fair though, her consistently polling within the top ten (she's usually always behind Booker but ahead of everyone else) isn't actually so bad for her, relatively speaking.

I'm kinda stumped as to how her campaign has already partially qualified for the September/October debates.

Where is all of this support coming from? Why isn't she failing like her fellow Senators Booker and Gillibrand?

I don't think she'll go all the way - but I'm highly impressed with Klobuchar's campaign so far. A lot of people are talking about the "Big 5" of Biden/Bernie/Buttigieg/Harris/Warren - but at this pace, we may have a "Big 6" going into Iowa.

I’m highly impressed with Elizabeth Warren’s campaign as far as Senators go; Klobuchar is doing the bare minimum to hang on and obviously angling for Biden VP. (Hint: She’d be another Tim Kaine.)

I’m highly impressed with Elizabeth Warren’s campaign as far as Senators go; Klobuchar is doing the bare minimum to hang on and obviously a king for Biden VP.

She's definitely no Warren - but Klobuchar is killing the expectations that people had of her at the time of her announcement and the Salad/Staff Abuse Story. She was on a track to be a meme candidate, and she's objectively one of the top-performing candidates of the pack.

I am a Klobuchar supporter but don't think she has much of a shot. I think she would be a very strong GE candidate but don't think she can get enough traction to break through. Only shot is to win Iowa and hope for momentum.

FWIW I gave her $5 yesterday. I normally don't donate in primaries but I want her to make the fall debates.

Her plan:
-Win Iowa or strong second place
-Hang on through the rest of the early state with decent numbers maybe get a few delegates and watch lower tier candidates like Tom Steyer, Beto O’Rourke and Cory Booker drop out
-Have a strong win in Minnesota on Super Tuesday, a few strong but no overly surprising performances in the rest to win some delegates
-By this time, Klobuchar will likely be left with Harris, Biden, Warren(or Sanders), and maybe a candidate like Tulsi or Inslee just trying to win delegates
-After Super Tuesday, she must just stick around winning a few states like Ohio, Michigan and Indiana to try and push Biden out of the race
-By mid-march after Super Tuesday II then the path is kinda blurry without much knowledge of how the primaries will turn out

I think she was just nervous, I felt kind of bad for her. Can't be easy being on the line like that.

In previous debates, Amy has been on the brink of crying during most of her answers. This time she was trembling instead, although she was visibly emotional sometimes as well. I guess it must be some combination of nervousness and her being a far-above-normal emotional politician. Certainly noone can accuse her for not being in touch with her feelings.

The trembling was off-putting, worrisome, though I usually find her emotional nature to be endearing and giving her more sympathy and credibility, rising her authenticity.

Yeah... it's really hard to watch. Trying to not be insensitive if it's a medical condition, but I've noticed in every single debate, she's literally shaking and trembling during every single answer.

Could be medical.

That being said, I did competitive debating for two years in an Uni with a prestigious and kinda judgemental debating soc.

And I shook like a leaf every second I stood at that dispatch box.

Social anxiety is a hell of a ride.

Nerves, physical symptoms, it's not something you can "diagnose" from a video.

I also found it a little concerning. I think if it's non-medical and just a case of nerves, her campaign should address it. If it is medical, I can understand them not wanting to reveal that.

I think it’s nerves.... I have had to speak in front of many crowds and still get overwhelmed and nervous to the point that I’m shaking during certain parts of a speech. Being on a platform where every little thing you say might get ripped apart only adds to that.

A friend who I was watching the debate with suggested she might have had an energy drink to prepare, or might have even been on adderall.

By occam's razor, it was probably just nerves.

So she was on MSNBC and her hair was also visibly shaking. I think she might just be naturally jittery. But her hairstyle is not helping. Her bang is heavily hairsprayed and swooped away from her forehead. Any movement by Klobuchar will move the bang. I know nobody from her campaign is reading this, but next time brush her bang flatter and closer to her forehead.

I don't understand why she sounds nervous. Everytime she speaks she sounds like she is about to cry.

It's nothing compared to Susan Collins though. For her it's sure medical, as she does it whenever she speaks. I haven't seen Klobuchar trembling when talking in committee hearings.
