A slight leftward drift, but not as much as the forum has. When I joined, I was probably a little left of the forum center, but even with my slight leftward drift I'm now right of center for the forum.

Leftward on social and economic issues, "rightward" on foreign policy (I don't really think foreign policy can be put in a left-right scale, but I've become more interventionist).

am more conservative, less libertarian/right-liberal. could be considered rightward broadly though sometimes it means more leftward on particular questions.

Economically: from right to centre/centre-right (except trade unions)

Socially: from centre-right to extreme far-right (except immigration)

Foreign policy: from neocon hawk to neutral/tilt hawk

On balance a slight shift to the right.

Not a whole lot of change. I've settled on a few more socially conservative views on hot button topics, but those particular issues I was always indifferent to before and I think it's just being on a political forum where everything is talked about over and over again made me think about it more. But almost everything else has either been a steady left position or even moved further leftwards.

Somewhat to the left, but no real fundamental changes. The issues are different, and I don't feel I understand macroeconomics as much as I thought I did. But mostly I feel estranged from the political class, most of them, and both parties. Our system is basically broken. And there are some proposals that seem to be taken seriously in some quarters, such as packing SCOTUS, that just make me livid. Politicians in both parties seem to pander to their base in crude and reckless ways, that seems more grating to me than in the past. And of course there seems to be more crazies out there in our toxically polarized environment. Tolerance of the other in the public square seems to be at a nadir at the moment.

Overall about the same (left-leaning), but the composition of issues has changed drastically. Moved much more to the left on economics while mellowing out a bit on social issues.

I think I moderated my views a bit. In 2014 I identified as left-liberal or a progressive. Since 2015-2016 I identify as being a democratic socialist or ecosocialist, and since 2016 I joined a marxist party. I don't think much has changed, but i've become a bit more ecletic in my views, because I don't want to be part of a herding group that just repeats what anyone else says.

Perhaps slightly to the right, but yes from democratic socialist towards the middle of a left-liberal and a demsoc doesn't change things too much, and compared to those two ideologies i'm a bit more populist and a proponent of direct democracy. On foreign policy, i also slightly moved to the center.

I went from a pretty standard libertarian to a pretty far left wing person. College moderated me a bit, actually. So on the whole, I've moved pretty far to the left. But in the last 5 years or so, I've moved more to the center.

In the ten months since I joined the forum I have converted (again) to Catholicism and quite seriously so, which has obviously had a significant impact on how I approach politics but probably not so much on my specific stances. I feel like I have become more conservative but also more consistent and grounded. I would not really say I have moved rightward however (except on abortion I suppose) - maybe even leftward. The best answer is "neither" in any case.

Back in 2013, I was more left-wing and described myself as "left Social Democrat". That changed for a number of reasons, especially through job experience in the businessworld and political involvement with the Social Democratic Party at the local level. So I moved rightward relatively speaking, or closer to the center and staunch ideology has turned me off.

^Same

I was never particularly right-wing on economics but definitely identified as a libertarian when I joined the forum (in middle school). Teenage libertarianism is a sort of fever, you either sweat it out or it kills you; I chose the former & ended up a full-blown socialist in college. I feel like I've moved substantially back toward the center since then, though it may just be that the importance of various issues has shifted.

I think the more important "ideological" movement, for me, has been picking a handful of issues to focus on. I have strong opinions about environmental conservation, universal healthcare, housing, and "economic issues" (workers rights, economic inequality, the social safety net and the labor movement), and I view most issues through those lenses, but I don't really feel the need to stake out a position on each and every issue and hold forth on all of them equally under the framework of "libertarianism" or "socialism" or some such thing. I attribute that mostly to no longer spending my weekends writing long electoral platforms for Fantasyland purposes.

I'd honestly say about the same. I was a card-carrying Democrat, but I was still vehemently leftist. I had called Barack Obama "Georack Obamush" after signing partial Dodd-Frank repeal and deleting a call to riot after they found George Zimmerman not guilty.

My attachment to the Democratic Party is another story. The first time I "went lime green" was over the partial repeal of Dodd-Frank during the CRomnibus debate, and I came back around 2016 out of hope for compromise with Bernie. I left the party again around 2018 - the final straw was House leadership's treatment of the Squad. Overall, I've found that many Democrats wish people like me would GTFO the party for the heinous crime of not supporting Hillary in the primary.

I am optimistic about becoming a Democrat some day, and I believe Biden is putting work towards making the party a place for the left, but there's a lot of decay in the party that will take years to recover from.

Been here since 2003.

I drifted rightward until about 2011 then slowly leftward then extremely leftward and anti-capitalist over the last year. The centre-rights coddling of reactionism and the failure of the political centre completely by trying to find a 'both sides' argument when dealing with proto-fascism has swung me harder left than I thought I would be at 34.

And in the past two years, probably even further left.
