White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday that God "wanted Donald Trump to become president."

Sanders spoke with David Brody and Jennifer Wishon of the Christian Broadcasting Network. Brody during the interview asked the press secretary for a "spiritual perspective" on Trump's presidency.

"I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president," Sanders said. "And that’s why he’s there, and I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about.”

That's why I always say that the world is actually a much darker place if one chooses to believe in God. As a nihilistic atheist, at least I accept the randomness of the world. With God apparently, everything is predetermined to suck.

Nah, God gets to live in the Celestial Paradise while we underlings stick it out here on earth.  He sent us Jesus so we know our souls are 100% good for all of eternity, so he's got all our backs.

Just trying to point out that the idea of a Christian God is not incompatible with world "randomness" or imperfection.  He's perfected us through Jesus.

I can't help but wonder what rock Sarah Sanders sits under.

She's only 36 years old, so maybe that's part of her problem. Too young. She looks much older than that, and notice she never seems to smile. She probably hates her job.

Her age is no excuse. She was indoctrinated from birth by Mike Huckabee, her father, which is the entirety of the problem.
