Reading this thread you’d think Ojeda is Dennis Kucinich.

That's a grave insult to Kucinich.

At least he can see the obvious.  I'd back him for Senator or Governor.

But joining the Republican primary as the populist, protectionist anti-Trump candidate - now that would be interesting.

I guess this moves my endorsement over to Gabbard. Was hoping he'd at least make it to the first debate.

Honorable move, a campaign that relies on small donations shouldnt keep going if there's no chance it'll go anywhere.

He did the honorable thing upon concluding his long shot but was hopeless and refused to drag it out and waste people’s time and money. Now, he can refocus his efforts on supporting and aiding whatever Democratic candidate he prefers who has a more realistic chance.

No, it wouldn’t. Aligning with Republicans would make him a traitor to his class-based politics and the people for whom he claimed to be fighting.

I guess this moves my endorsement over to Gabbard.

Nothing says "proud progressive" like supporting the two most right-wing candidates out of a field of dozens.

Voting for Republicans is fine though

I'm not saying it's something I'd agree with but it would be interesting in a detached sense.

I hope he runs as a Democrat for something in the future.  Perhaps for Governor in 2020.  I could see him unseating  Jim Justice.

The guy literally voted for Trump.

I didn't expect him to go very far, but I at least thought he would make it to one debate and then drop out after that.

The guy literally voted for Trump.

It was more of a vote against Clinton than a vote for Trump. But, he mistakenly believed Trump might provide some positive changes for West Virginians; that doesn’t necessarily make him a traitor to his beliefs. He did screw up though and make a seriously bad choice in ‘16, about which he has spoken quite a bit.

Committing to the Republican Party and working to advance its agenda or, at the very least, supportive GOP leadership, would be much worse than one vote cast in 2016.

Only dead salmon go with the flow, I guess.

It would be nice if he ran for Senate. Even if a Dem can't win WV, he can keep SMC honest.

Like I said, I hope his next move is to run for Governor or Senate in 2020. Either way, I think he can outperform his state's partisan lean by a significant amount, even if he doesn't end up winning outright.

Not if the Democratic nominee is a populist progressive instead of a corporatist.

Poor economically anxious Ojeda will be forced to vote for Strong White Daddy Trump over neoliberal corporate whore Kamala Harris.

And I don't think he will or should.  It's just me musing that him becoming a Republican would be interesting.
