Just wow...

I get the feeling Trump would be fine with Doug Jones winning, if Sessions pulls off a miracle and wins the runoff.

I believe this would be Round 3 for Memorial Day weekend, if anybody's keeping up with these distractions. Hey, only a day & a half more to go.

At some point, will Tubby remember that 'piling on' is a penalty play?

I Mean, Sessions's campaign is probably attempting a Hail Mary here, since they have no other path towards victory. Ensuring the feud gets as public as possible changes Sessions brand for depending on your perspective. If you are a republican wary after four years or looking for a check, you would migrate to Sessions after these actions. If you are a 'law and stability' style republican you focus on Sessions's various defenses which all focus on his ability over Tuberville's unyielding loyalty.

The problem is that Sessions likely needs some Trump diehards to get to 50%, and he certainly won some of these voters in the first round. He's going to need their votes in the runoff, and he has to hope they choose Sessions's year of service over this twitter feud.

Coulter has turned on Trump because he failed to build the wall.

And doesn't like Tuberville because he supports a guest worker visa program.

This is very, very tossup. I'm torn as well. It's very complicated. Whether you support the GOP or not, they should be running better candidates and put up one good one for spots like that.

Here's a question. If the runoff was Roy Moore vs. Jeff Sessions who would Trump endorse?

I think Trump would actually endorse Jones in that scenario.

He hates Sessions that much right now, and he knows full well that nominating Moore would cause Alabama Republicans to lose again, so Trump might just wreck Republicans chances completely instead.

Roy Moore easily. Roy Moore, while a pedophile would still be a lapdog to Trump unlike Jeff Sessions. If Roy Moore had been appointed as AG, he would be Trump's willing mob boss accomplice like Bob Barr.

Trump would just stay out of it and endorse in the general. As much as he likes loyalty, maintaining power and not losing the seat would take precedence. Picking either side in the primary would have it's disadvantages, whereas the general endorsement is simpler to give, since the democrat is always worse.

Had Jeff Sessions not spent his life causing harm to Black communities, he might have been able to pull a Thad Cochran here (to the extent that Alabama law allows such a scheme). Very interesting how this runoff is causing all of Sessions' sins, both real and perceived, to come to a head.

Reading Beauregard's Twitter is kinda funny. He's hitting Tuberville very hard on an almost hourly basis for being a Florida phony and constantly challenges him to debate. Meanwhile, he's still embracing Trump and his agenda.

Jeff Sessions is the more conservative candidate in the race. He is not Thad Cochran.

Complaining about your opponent not debating you is usually the sign of a dead campaign.

Sessions is opposed to legal immigration and his argument is Tuberville is for legal immigration.

Tuberville is strong on illegal immigration as well

Tuberville is a hack running on being a Trump sycophant. Sessions is more conservative than he is on both fiscal and social issues (know you aren't socially conservative, but you are fiscally) and has actual principles to stand on.

This isn't the Democratic primary.
