Ford was ugly as hell; Jimmy Carter's a sexy mofo, forgot about him; Reagan was photogenic but not in a sexy way (also letting a ton of us die of AIDS bc muh morality was not sexy); GHWB was not hot; Clinton is kinda ugly; Dubya's neither attractive nor unattractive; Obama's hot AF but I don't ogle him cause I love his family too much; and Trump is hideous.

Buttigeig would be more attractive than most previous Presidents not because he's not but because we've had a terrible run since... well, 1789.

There is literally nothing attractive about Pete Butggieg. I mantain that post Nixon only Trump is worse looking than him. Young Gerald Ford is 100x better even if you consider Predident Ford somewhat worse. All the others are way better imo.

Buttigieg is great but realistically he's running for a cabinet post here.

This. I wish him luck though.

Yeah. He'd be a good HUD Secretary. Not presidential material at this point, though it's unfortunately difficult for him to get elected to higher office such as senator or governor in a state like Indiana. He's in an even worse position than Beto here.

This would be Kamala Harris. Or if we're talking men, Barack Obama.

As an aside, this is a terrible move if he wants to get elected Governor in 2020/2024. The last thing he needs is to be connected to the national party.

Really? I'm a straight guy but I'm comfortable enough to recognize when another man is attractive.

Both Pete & Beto are average looking white guys. At least in my opinion.

So far off to a bad start, picked a pretty lousy news day to announce with Venezuela and SOTU back and forth dominating the news. And so soon after Harris announced, probably should've done it earlier in Jan right after Warren.

I agree:
Buttigeig would be more attractive than most previous Presidents not because he's hot but because we've had a terrible run since... well, 1789.

I would not like to have relations with Buttigeig, Beto, or any American President ever. Obama and JFK come the closest. Joe Neguse, Antonio Delgado, Martin Heinrich, and Ricardo Rosselló, on the other hand, are actually all quite attractive to me.

I can also recognize why the straights would see Gretchen Whitmer, Tulsi Gabbard, AOC, Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, and Ayanna Pressley attractive, even if the thought of me being straight is physically revolting to me. Tongue

It probably doesn't matter considering that I highly doubt he would have a shot at winning the governorship regardless.

I understand Indiana isn't hospitable to the modern Democratic party and is trending away, but Buttigieg could at least run for something he has an actual chance of winning in his home state.

He has a good potential to be a dark horse who could beat the likes of Gillibrand or Castro. Just look at his social media numbers when he announced.

Yeah, he has almost twice as many views on his video despite being in for 12 hours compared to Gillibrand who announced last week and has had countless interviews.

CLINTON!?

I could concede on the former two, even though they're not my cup of tea, but Clinton!?

What would that even be? IN-02 is possible, but Mel Hall was a good candidate and he didn't come close. If Donnelly couldn't win the Senate race last year as an incumbent, Buttigieg would have no chance at unseating Young or Braun. And the governorship is possible, but certainly not until 2024 seeing as Holcomb is pretty popular.

Wait, a gay veteran who broke numerous age records in politics and wants to bet on the younger generations? If his policies match up with this backstory, I know who I'm changing my signature to (also because he is the most attractive american lawmaker I've laid my eyes on).

I like him, he has some things going for him, but he is too low profile and his name alone would probably cause people to make cheap schoolyard jokes about him. He won't be much of a presence in the primary. Also he opens up the floodgates to other (also more significant) mayors like De Blasio, Garcetti, and Landrieu to run. They'll figure "he's running? Why shouldn't I?" This primary field really is going to be the biggest in US history, I wasn't entirely sure that was going to be the case until now!

I mean, it was kinda part of his whole thing back in the day, at least in the eyes of a lot of people. (I never fully got it myself, but still.)

He should have run for Congress against Jackie w.

This. I'm guessing he knows as well as the rest of us that he has a roughly 0% of even coming close to the presidential nomination, and IN-02 could actually be decently competitive with a good candidate.

Just like how Bullock needs to run for MT-SEN and leave the presidential race alone, both for his own good and for the sake of the party. (Bullock still would fare better in the presidential primary than Buttigieg, but that's not saying very much.)
