Man, I can't stand Tulsi:

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/jul/23/tulsi-gabbard-kamala-harris-not-qualified-serve-co/

Tulsi has been bizarrely silent on and defensive of Biden who she actually disagrees with, but goes after Kamala on temperament?

I knew she was a bad draw on the debate stage for Harris. I am hoping her political irrelevance doesn't give her a real opportunity to go after Kamala on stage. And the merits of her opinion aside, dumb to telegraph a potential punch weeks out. Harris kept her mouth shut before knifing Biden so effectively.

Kamala Harris is a frontrunner who can speak however much she wants about any topic on the debate stage. Tulsi is an also-ran who needs to pick a fight in advance to hopefully steer the moderators towards asking her to double down. We saw this from the GOP also-rans in 2016. They were often unsuccessful in doubling down.
This. Whatever Tulsi says will be an afterthought.

1. I love Kamala just ignores Gabbard. She's right to do so. She's irrelevant.

2. Not quite sure attacking Harris on a daily basis is a good strategy. Kamala now expects Tulsi to come after her in the debate, and she'll be ready.

3. LOL @ her accusing Harris of attacking Biden for political gain when she's doing the exact same thing to Kamala.

That Harris staffer had quite the one-liner takedown of Gabbard, though. If Harris used that line in the debate, Gabbard might have to drop out on stage.

You're making me feel icky clicking through to the Washington Times. Can we use real news sources next time?
Free Beacon and Washington Times are the only ones to pick it up so far.

Really says something about her entire campaign.

She's been championed by people like David Duke, Mike Cernovich, and Tim Pool... now we know she's a darling of right-wing media.

Why do we need to ask 'who the real Kamala Harris' is? If she's a genuine authentic politician, we wouldn't need to ask that question.

Mental gymnastics.

You’d be saying something different if it was the title for Bernie or Biden.

The fact Biden feels compelled to shore up support among his African American supporters shows Kamala Harris really is making serious inroads among them:

You (and others) should realize that there's another debate in six days. Let's see how that goes before we make any major declarations...again.

It's tough to be black running for president, and even a woman. Also, she is from SF, supporting SSM, which blacks oppose, in rural south.

Could someone run through how marijuana will be federally decriminalized (not legalized) but will have a federal sales tax on it? If marijuana is merely decriminalized, it'll still be illegal to buy-sell-possess it under federal law, just without jail time as a potential consequence. How can you put a sales tax on something in that situation???

It's because of the federal/state law disconnect. From the article: "Her proposal would impose a 5-percent federal tax on the sale of marijuana in the states that have legalized it, a levy that’s similar to the federal tax that currently applies to the sale of cigarettes. Half the revenue from that tax would be funneled into a group of grant programs dedicated to ensuring that communities that have faced discrimination over marijuana possession reap the benefits of its legalization."

I mean, even now when it's illegal at federal level there are business operating selling it in states where it's legal right? So I guess you could tax those.

I don't think the other entities that tax it have merely decriminalized it. Keeping it illegal while taxing it is a very special position.

This is... very bad. Only up to $20,000 forgiven for such a tiny group of people? It’s better than nothing I guess, but it’s not a comprehensive solution and liberal twitter is already furious over it.

Bernie came out with full student debt forgiveness for everyone and now everyone else is racing to water it down, even Warren. This is like what Chapo Trap House or whoever would come up with as a parody of centrist attempts to solve the student debt crisis.

How do you define a "disadvantaged community"?

*sigh* it’s sad that we live in an age where nobody read the article anymore.

It’s about development in the black community.

Did you read the article?

This is a terrible policy. The only people who qualify are those who received pell grants in addition to student loans. If someone has student loans would they really be taking on the risk of starting a small business out of college? Do you know how many small businesses, let alone black small businesses fail after less than 2 years? Who is providing said loans to these people? What constitutes a business? What constitutes a disadvantaged community? This is way too narrow, clunky, and uninspiring. She doesn't have to promise the moon and stars but she can come better than this.

Bernie came out with full student debt forgiveness for everyone and now everyone else is racing to water it down, even Warren. This is like what Chapo Trap House or whoever would come up with as a parody of centrist attempts to solve the student debt crisis.
Uh.... how is Warren racing to water it down? She came out with her plan first.

Just trying to understand who these people are who were granted pell grants but also have the capital to start a business in a disadvantaged area and can ensure it is successful for at least three years - Random Twitter comment.

Harris has the worst policies of all candidates in terms of details. She rushes into stupid policies. Her tax bill was stupid too. Gave needless tax credit to the tune of 100's of billions for no reason.

She needs to hire Warren's policy advisor. She is clearly out of her depth & needs more time. She should have run after spending atleast 1 term in the Senate. If she is serious about 2020, she should hire a good policy person ASAP !

Literally one of the dumbest policy proposals I have ever seen. It's like a parody of modern wonkery.

Exactly, her student loan debt policy is what catalyzed her rise into the top tier originally back in the spring. Bernie isn’t leading the field on policy, and never has. That honor goes to Warren.
