So yesterday I did a day trip to Mankato. I do these periodically for nostalgia jolts, and it's a pretty nice drive honestly, although I didn't really notice that in college (probably because I did it so often I was bored of it.) I also print off how to same-day register to vote forms and drop them at my old apartment complex because again, I did it in 2006 and nostalgia jolt.

Anyway while I was there I planned on buying a bottle at my old liquor store that regularly supplied me in college...and it's closed. Vacant part of the building, and signs from a realtor about it being for rent.

Nooooooooooooo. So many memories and drunkeness from there. Sad I enjoyed things otherwise but that really bummed me out.

But I also found out that the next closest liquor store to the area (which is still fairly close) shares a building with a store that primarily sells weed edibles.

You are lucky that there are still liquor stores open in MN, while meanwhile women seeking reproductive health care are fleeing elsewhere.

Very interesting how a certain political party which supports "individual freedom", is now a party which promotes authoritarian "Big Brother" style of control over their own citizens.

Me and my wife just the other day put framed portraits of JFK and FDR on the wall of our small apartment, plus another small one with a map of Ireland, shortly before the "apartment inspectors" come into our modest tenant home.

I really wonder how long it is until "Gay Marriage" or "Interracial Marriage" end up in the hands of "States Rights", considering the current trajectory of SCOTUS.

Hell, pretty sure we now have ways to smuggle items such as booze and herb across state lines, without even having to deal with the whole "Gatling Gun" scene, from the Prohibition Era...

Rum and (non-Russian) vodka. Not big on wine. Also enjoy those Twisted Shotz things but those weren't around when I was in college.
