The republican party is desperate for success in the Garden State. Forrester has been a terible candidate but in the last 24 hours, the bigot in the republican party has come out.

1st - Last night Bill O'Reilly told his viewers that Corzine doesnt care about protecting children from child molesters as he is a liberal that has his head in the clouds. Voting reponsible means you have no choice but to vote for Forrester.

Talking Points Memo
Protecting the Kids in New Jersey
"The only way Jessica's Law will be passed in all 50 states is for the folks to vote out governors who will not support it. New Jersey has a tremendous problem with abused children - the child protection agency is chaotic and predators often receive light sentences. Raymond Ritter was sentenced to probation for molesting an 11-year old boy - while on probation he was charged with sexual assault against another child. Milton Moore served seven years after assaulting a 14-year old girl. He got out and was promptly charged with assaulting a 13-year old girl. I could list many more cases, but you get the idea. Next Tuesday voters will select a governor between Senator John Corzine, a Democrat, and Republican Doug Forrester. The Factor doesn't endorse candidates, but in this case Forrester will push for Jessica's Law, Corzine will not. So if you live in New Jersey and care about the kids, in my opinion you've got to go with Forrester. Corzine is a classic liberal who believes there is gray in pretty much every issue. We believe there is no gray in adults sexually assaulting children - you do it one time, you go to jail for 25 years. That's Jessica's Law. That's what's needed in New Jersey and every other state in the union."

2) This morning the Republican party is running an ad featuring Corzines
ex-wife "let his family down, and he'll probably let New Jersey down, too."

Hours later, the Corzine campaign fired back, accusing Forrester of bringing "Bush-Rove smear tactics to our state." Karl Rove is President Bush's top adviser.

The 15-second spot — which aired Thursday, five days before the election — displayed a quote by Joanne Corzine from Wednesday's New York Times, describing her reaction to seeing Forrester's wife in an advertisement.

"All I could think was that Jon did let his family down, and he'll probably let New Jersey down, too," she told the Times.

Joanne Corzine has said her former husband's political ambitions destroyed their 33-year marriage. The couple divorced in 2003, three years after he was elected to the Senate.

Forrester had said Wednesday that he considered her comment a "private matter" and would not make it a campaign issue, the Times said.

Forrester "has been clear through the campaign that private life is private life," his campaign spokeswoman Sherry Sylvester told The Associated Press.

Corzine and his wife separated in 1999, before he was elected to the Senate. The divorce wasn't official until 2003.

NJ Republicans are the evil ones? I thought that even the most partisan, brain-dead Democrat could admit that their party in the Garden State is the more evil of the two.

First, I'm going to question how many swing voters get their news from Fox.

Second, there is a context that is governmental.  Corzine had a relationship with a union officer who then persuaded her union to contribute to his campaign.  Also, as was noted, she said this in the newspaper, so it's nothing Forester drew out.  In that respect, it's legitimate politics.

Uh, false. They didn't seperate unitl after the 2000 election, and Mrs. Corzine was very active in that campaign.

Indeed.  They seperated in 2002.

Corzine will say anything, do anything, spend any amount of money, for political power.

Crooked Democatic politicians have perpetrated a legacy of corruption upon the people of New Jersey.

How much more scandal and rip off of tax payers money do the people of New Jersey have to see before they have the sense to get rid of the source of this corruption, Democratic politicians.

Start at the top to get rid of these Democratic con artists, at the Governorship.

Things are getting NASTY IN NJ.

If Forrester is going to pull a stunt like this I suggest Corzine run with the Times article that stated Forrster had an affrair with Miss New Jersey.  A low blow should be responded with another low blow.

I'm sorry, but quoting in ads what some somebody says in the newspaper isn't something that is wrong.   It's out there, in the public record, and they are just repeating it.

Dirty, horrible politics?  New Jersey?  Nah.

I agree that it isn't wrong, J. J., but it is vicious, especially when it is so blatantly personal, and not political.  If we were kicking every unfaithful politician out of office, we'd have an amusing number of open seats.

The New York Times ran an article a couple days ago claiming Forrester had an affair with Miss New Jersey.  Would you have said the same thing had Corzine used the article in his campaign lit?

There would be no John McCain, who was an admitted adulterer in his first marriage.

Guilani as well, except that it was his second marriage. He's now on his 3rd. There go 2 top 2008 Republican Presidential canidates.

At least, unlike Arnold, we have no evidence that they screwed underage girls.
