Voters will head to the polls next May to elect the next President of Panama and the National Assembly.

Here are the current candidates for President of Panama:

Vice President Jose Gabriel Carrizo Jaen (Democratic Revolutionary Party)

Deputy Zulay Rodriguez (Democratic Revolutionary Party)

Former Minister of External Affairs Romulo Roux (Democratic Change Party)

Assemblyman Jose Isabel Brandon Figueroa (Panamaista Party)

Former President Martin Torrijos (People's Party)

Meliton Arrocha (Independent)

Jose "Toto" Alvarez (Social Independent Alternative Party)
