Militias are paramilitary mafias formed by policeman, firefighters and other military (serving or retired) who take communities and favelas saying that they'll fight trafficants, but to control all of economic activities in communities, through blackmail and violence. They usually acts in coalition with evangelicals and politicians. Bolsonaro's best showings were in militia areas. State legislator Freixo (who'll be congressman in next legislature) fights against them and lives under protection for his fight. And militias are believed to be behind Rio's town councillor Marielle Franco's murder.
