EFF is a corrupt personality cult, yes, but our friend here is criticizing them as "awful and completely racist" while supporting an Afrikaner separatist party that's, uh, awful and completely racist. I would not vote for EFF if I lived in South Africa, but here? A zero-stakes internet forum vote where it presents an opportunity to irritate that dude? Easy choice.

Oh I'm not irritated - merely bemused.
I don't see the leader of the VF standing at a rally and saying 'Shoot to kill' and 'Take up arms' when I watch SA news.
As an aside I don't see the idea of a Volkstaat as racist but it is obviously untenable.

Probably not all the left supports two-state solutions. Personally I prefer the single state solution implemented in South Africa. You may argue that South African democracy is not perfect, but the deal that paved the way for multiracial elections averted a civil war. On the other hand, the white population was not slaughtered and their properties were not seized. Hence the white Afrikaner separatists that you support hardly have a point. Anyway the VF+ supporters can hold meetings in Orania peacefully and unmolested, so everybody is happy.

EFF is racist. It is 99% black so i question why there are no whites in that party, and apparently it's because of racism, and the leader of EFF has been compared with Mugabe. I think this is sadly one of the countries where race determines what you vote for, and it's DA. I don't know enough about South Africa, and it's a complicated country because it's just not left vs right. I might even just not bother voting at all in that country.

EDIT: It would most likely be one of the smaller parties like Agang SA or Congress of the People, and it would have to be a party that includes both black and white people.

I would vote for the party that best serves my interests. I'm not South African so I dunno what party that would be. They're all corrupt in their own ways, so I look out for myself.

Gay marriage was legalised in 2006 (5th in the world) - the ANC brought in and backed the bill, and the DA allowed its MP's a "conscience vote"; and South Africa's constitution is generally seen as being one of the most progressive in the world in areas like gay rights.

(If polling is to be believed, EFF voters are allegedly the most supportive of gay right. I, um, probably wouldn't use that as a reason to support them).
