Again, these polls are practically just useless tests of name recognition. You mean to tell me people said they're less likely to vote for Biden if he chooses CCM? For what reasons, exactly?

Name recognition matters though. If Hillary had chosen a more well-known (and charismatic) figure than Tim Kaine then maybe that would have helped her.

I’m not sure how credible this is, but apparently Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo is also under consideration and is moving up on the list.

But you’re ignoring my CCM argument. The poll said people would be less likely to vote for Biden if he were to choose her. Of course having name recognition is important, but it’s not a must. So can we stop treating these VP polls as if they’re super important?

It means nothing.

Duckworth and Biden penned an op-ed together--

Well a plurality of Democrats prefer Warren by polls, but with COVID-19 putting a crimp on political giving, Biden is more dependent on his corporate donors than ever. That could lead to progressives getting the trapdoor once again.

I did a search in Fox Business and couldn’t find anything related to It. Anyone else having any luck? I find fake news on the left

Raimondo is young and has executive experience. That said, she has routinely been one of the most unpopular governors in the country. If Biden wanted someone with executive experience whose not Whitmer, Hassan or Lujan Grisham seem like better options.

Hm.  Who are the 10 being fully vetted?

1. Kamala Harris
2. Amy Klobuchar
3. Elizabeth Warren
4. Tammy Duckworth
5. Gretchen Whitmer
6. Val Demings
7. Maggie Hassan
8. Michelle Lujan Grisham
9. Catherine Cortez Masto

Not sure who Number 10 is but I have a hard time believing it is Gina Raimondo.

Gina Raimondo shouldn't even be in the running. She would be a horrible pick.

It feels like her name is being floated so folks go "Thank God its Klobuchar and not Raimondo."

More from the story linked there:

Quote
“They’ve asked a lot of questions,” he said during the fundraiser co-hosted by Pete Buttigieg, one of his former rivals for the Democratic nomination. “Next is for me to have that conversation.”

Biden said the list would then be narrowed and the remaining candidates would be vetted, a process he said would take between six to eight weeks. He has promised to select a female nominee, but he declined on Wednesday to name any of the women under consideration.

Biden picking a VP in August makes the most sense. It also in my opinion boosts Klobuchar (and Whitmer) and might hurt Warren. If he wanted Warren it makes sense to have her for fundraising during June/July and announce early. Harris to a lesser extent due to her fundraising ability doesn't make much sense either late.

If Biden is worried about base rants about Amy, he is best announcing her right before the convention so the naysayers get drowned out by positive coverage.
