I'm really over GOP politicians backtracking and saying something "was a joke" or "was sarcasm" when it clearly wasn't

Should it really even be acceptable for politicians to joke or be sarcastic if that was even the case?

Yes?
They not robots.   People should be allowed to be interesting.

But in a professional capacity? Like what Trump claims the "inject disinfectant" comment was during a coronavirus press briefing? Obviously it wasn't actually a sarcastic joke but is that the right time and place if it was a joke? Come on!

Even if he doesn't win, he's easily run one of the strongest campaigns this cycle.

Epic. I think Harrison could get to 47 or even 48% but cracking 50% will be near impossible, so splitting the R vote as much as possible is a very useful strategy. We’ll see how effective it ends up being.

Noted ghoul Dianne Fienstein gives race to Graham on silver platter

Combine this with how much of an uphill battle the race was to begin with, and it's over. It was fun to dream, and it will be closer than usual, but the winner isn't in doubt.
Feinstein is probably hated by South Carolina conservatives(those who know Feinstein. Is). It's makes no difference

That being said these 85 year old dinosaurs need to go and bring fresh blood

If Harrison has any hopes of victory, he needs to win moderate suburban voters. Those are the only people in the state who might know who she is and approve of her.

The battle over the Supreme Court is something in Graham's favor. Republicans approve of him turning away from the promise he made 4 years ago.

SC conservatives aren't going to think highly of Graham for embracing Feinstein, but are going to vote for him anyway because trump maga qanon brainrot.

This reminds me of when Hannity was blaming Graham somehow for Trump talking to Bob Woodward. I guess some Branch COVIDians aren't over Graham's early criticisms of candidate Trump.

I'm certainly fine with it though.

Since Harrison seems to have this impenetrable 48% ceiling, all he has to do is have more than 4% vote for third party and he's actually won. This is a crazy number for a third party candidate in a race where the Republican is so hated by conservatives. The constitution candidate is still on the ballot and stuff pours fuel on the fire. Graham is getting hit where it hurt, Fox News.

A result that's like

48.6% Harrison
48.4% Graham
 3.0% Bledsoe

would be exactly what Lindsey Graham deserves.

a risky and desperate strategy: could hurt Harrison's potential for crossover support from pro-life/pro-gun/Trump voters by bringing up these issues of disagreement and telling them their views are "too conservative for South Carolina"

Lindsey Graham is on the Ingraham Angle right now, and he just begged for more money again. I'm watching Fox News on my television out of interest, and he's there putting in his pitch for LindsayGraham.com as always, arguing that voters need to "send him back" so that he can finish his work.
