Maybe the fact that Beto explicitly endorsed Bernie Sanders' own Medicare For All bill while campaigning in TX will quiet down some of the Bernie Bro criticism of Beto's stance on health care...

Is Beto not pure enough for Bernie Bros because he supports Bernie's own bill? If so, then what is Bernie?
His name isn't Bernie Sanders. It's a personality cult. Notice how Kamala was attacked when she was rising and now Beto is being attacked. Morons like Kyle Kulinski and the Humanist Report would rather have Ojeda or Andrew Yang get BTFO than Beto or Kamala beat Trump.

I say this as someone who voted for Bernie - his most loyal supporters (Bernie Bros) are just unwilling to give any other legitimate candidate a chance.

Well said. As someone who also voted for Bernie in the primaries, the brinkmanship pushed by some on the left wing of the Democratic Party is not at all helpful to defeating Trump in 2020. Would you rather have someone who supports 90% of what you want or someone (Trump) who supports maybe 5% of what you want?

I'm no purity troll. Bernie probably doesn't support 90% of what I want. Beto supports a lot less of what I want than Bernie. Obama did a better job of pretending to be progressive.

Guys, you won't believe this, but I actually saw Beto at a grocery store in Houston yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical interference,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

From the deep thinkers at the National Review, this offering:

The Snob Party
Of course the Democrats are still mad for Beto: He is who they are.

How profound!...

Well, it looks like they are already pivoting to General Election mode. This is probably what we should expect the attack line against Beto to be once it becomes clear that he has won the nomination.

Who gives a f**k what the NR thinks? Better yet, what Democrat should be taking advice from them?

That first paragraph in that sh**tty article is enough to close the tab.

It's hilarious seeing Kevin Williamson accusing someone else of snobbery when a few years ago he was ranting about trailer park white trash meth-addicts who were betraying conservative ideology and principles by voting overwhelmingly for Trump.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram has an article about whether Beto can beat Trump in Texas. Lots of quotes from various D and R consultant types and some university Professors, with no clear consensus:

Beto launches his version of an exploratory committee - which is a road trip...

Democrat Beto O’Rourke Plans Solo Road Trip to Meet Voters Outside Texas
Texan would visit places like community colleges as he weighs 2020 presidential bid

The question is, how far will he venture outside of Texas? The problem is if you venture too far from Texas, there start to be fewer and fewer Whataburgers. So Beto might starve, he has to be careful not to drive too far away.

The "Democrats are all rich" thing is just another example of conservatives refusing to admit that minorities exist.

Reminder that Lincoln was the 1st president to have a beard but then it fell out of trend.
Beto is clearly appealing to this key demographic.

As a member of the beard police, I feel obligated to remind you that within the two decades after Lincoln, there were several bearded presidents - Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, and James A. Garfield, so it took awhile for it to fall out of trend - the last with a full beard was Benjamin Harrison. All were Republicans from just three states - Illinois, Ohio and Indiana.

Several presidents ditched the beard but still kept a moustache - Chester A. Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft, but no president in the past century has had facial hair.
