2018 GE Results by Precinct--- 1/26/19 Updates

1.) Added Florida links to Statewide Reporting Agency. Deleted FL County Election Links.

2.) Added Kansas links to Statewide Reporting Agency. Deleted KS County Election Links.

3.) Deleted Idaho County Election links, since we already have a Statewide Reporting Site.

4.) Added an additional (11) Counties in Texas reporting Precinct Results: Victoria, Guadalupe, Wharton, Gillespie, Lee, Leon, Polk, Rusk, Harrison, Montague, and Wise Counties.

See my Texas Post for County Election links to Precinct Results.

78/254 Counties Reporting.

5.) Added an additional County in Utah officially reporting Precinct Results: Uintah County.

21/29 Counties Officially Reporting. (I have non-official precinct numbers for the remaining (Cool Counties)

6.) Added an additional County in California officially reporting precinct results: Sierra County.

55/58 Counties Officially Reporting....

Now we are only down to Del Norte, Mendocino, and Mariposa Counties....

7.) Added an additional County in Michigan: Iron County

78/83 Counties officially reporting... waiting for (3) Counties in the UP and Two in Northern Michigan, but most likely we will see all counties reporting on the Statewide site before we see precinct returns from these places.

8.) New York---- Added an additional County: Tioga County

50/62 Counties reporting by Precinct. Honestly not sure how many more precinct results we can squeeze out of NY since Nassau and Suffolk are so tight handed on their election reporting.

9.) I did not check for updates in Indiana and Missouri , as well as some (50) Counties in North Tex and Northwest Tex and the Panhandle.

Here is the updated Map:

Here are the updated State Links:

Here is the current state of the Map:

These are the Color Conventions Used (Although I'm testing out a different Map using 3-D Paint)

DARK GRAY = States where Precinct level Results are available from one Statewide Reporting Agency

DARK BLUE= States where Precinct level Results will likely be fully or partially available from a Statewide Reporting Agency.

CYAN / SKY BLUE = States without Precinct level results available from a Statewide Reporting Agency, so we have to turn to the Counties for relief.

LAVENDER = States where we have no precinct level results from State or County Reporting agencies, nor should we expect that to be the case.

NUMBERS by STATE= Number of Counties with precinct results available on either State or County links posted below or in independent posts on this thread.

Links to State Centralized Election Reporting Surfaces for Precinct Results:

Now you have a folder in Excel for each individual county, where you can open and view the precinct results.... ***

*** *** Scroll down to 2018 General Election Results by Precinct, select the election you are interested in, such as Governor, US House, etc and it will download an Excel Spreadsheet.

https://kingcounty.gov/depts/elections/results/2018/201811.aspx

*** Scroll down to the bottom to the "Final Precinct Level Election Results" and click on the comma delimited file, and next thing you know you'll have a file you can easily convert in Excel and do all the great stuff Excel can do to help sort and organize your data ***

West Virginia:

https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/WV/92360/Web02-state.222648/#/access-to-races

*** ENR Engine... Scroll Down and click on County name, head over to right and download results for all races in the County by preferred file format (Including Excel--- YES!!!!). I could post some screens caps here, but most of y'all should be somewhat familiar by this now, if you've spent much time looking up precinct results and followed previous instructions from other State / County Precinct Reporting agencies ***

Wisconsin:

https://elections.wi.gov/elections-voting/results

*** NOTE- Scroll Down to the Bottom and select the "Ward by Ward" Excel Spreadsheet for either US-SEN, US-HOUSE, State Sen, or GEN ASSEMBLY----    Thanks Gass for the source! ***

Wyoming:

https://soswy.state.wy.us/Elections/Docs/2018/2018GeneralResults.aspx

*** Have to download precinct results individually by County ***

There are a few States where in theory we will see Centralized Election Precinct Reporting at some point.... I'll believe it when I see, and will keep checking, but I don't like waiting for my precinct data when I'm researching a project....

Michigan:

https://miboecfr.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/cfr/precinct_srch.cgi

*** Go to my Michigan Post for links to County available precinct results ***

Oregon:

https://sos.oregon.gov/elections/Pages/electionhistory.aspx

*** Go the Right-hand Site and pull a Zip fill by precinct, but at this point only includes 2017 and 2018 Primary date... Go to my Oregon Post for links to County Level Election Results ***

I'll be going through and doing some housekeeping so don't be surprised if some of my posts disappear, I just don't want to lose any critical data, especially stuff like updates which helps give a timeline of how quickly we can expect to see results posted....

Louisiana Updates:

Bit of a pain to navigate....

1.) Gotta Start here:

https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/Graphical

2.) Select your election date (11/06/18 in this example)

3.) Go the main page for a given election category in 2018 (For example).

4.) Click Parish Results in the Upper Right Screen, where you can then pull a Parish and select Precinct results.

5.) For Statewide Elections (Like LA SoS 2018) it takes you to a statewide map if you click on the Parish Button....

6.) Click on the County and view Results...

7.) Then click on the Upper Right-hand side of the screen for that Parish and select "Precinct Results"

8.) Then you have to select precinct by precinct....

*** NOTE: I haven't run through all of the Parishes yet to see if this qualifies as an official Statewide level precinct result ***

Any Atlas Posters out there want to jump in on Precinct level data from LA and if this could qualify as a full data-set, since I haven't gone through line item by line item to validate yet???

12/12/18 Update:

Since I hadn't received any feedback yet, I took the liberty of spending 30 Minutes going through every county, checked the SoS results by Parish, and spot check one individual precinct at random for every County.

It appears that this is a full precinct data set, albeit a bit unwieldy to access.

I will go ahead and consider this a full 2018 LA precinct data-set for Federal and Statewide Elections, unless someone who is looking at this in greater detail finds information to the contrary.

Note: I have major issues with how some Southern States, such as Louisiana bundle ALL EARLY VOTES into one line item, rather than redistributing back by precinct. What this means is that although we might have a full precinct data set for 2018, we don't really have a total clue as to how these Early Voters Voted by precinct, making a political forensic style of data analysis much more difficult, especially when matched against Socio-Demographic data....

2018 GE Mississippi Statewide Precinct Update:

This is a bit obscure....

1.) Go to this link...

http://www.sos.ms.gov/Elections-Voting/Pages/2018-General-Election.aspx

2.) You will see something like the following:

3.) The "Official County Recapitulation Sheets" will take you directly to MS Precinct level data...

*** Not sure yet if this a comprehensive precinct data-set for MS, since I didn't go through County by County ***

@ OneJ or any of the other posters from MS / AL (or others such as ExtremeRepublican) that are more attuned with precinct level data from this part of our Country?

I won't qualify this yet as a fully data-set until I either personally review each County, or someone else vouches that we got the whole enchilda here...

Arkansas---- Update 12/25/18:

So I decided to go and examine the Arkansas Precinct information posted on the Official State website in greater detail, since it was on my list of places, where I wasn't yet satisfied that it was a comprehensive data-set, without taking a look County by County...

https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/AR/92174/Web02-state.216038/#/access-to-races

*** So basically, if you use the Governor Election as a Template, you can go County by County and it will pull up a precinct map....

Still there are some Counties with no precinct map available, and some Counties that are missing precincts, usually White spots on the Map.... In some cases this could be the result of precinct consolidation in an Midterm Election that doesn't overlap with the default State GiS map, but we are also missing some entire municipalities in some of these Counties.

So here's a map of Counties that appear to have complete GOV results by precinct (GRAY) and those in (RED) are missing some or all precincts.

Although I didn't vet each of the US-House elections, a spot check appears that precinct results are also posted for FED elections as well....

Any of our resident Experts on Arkansas want to chime in to see if a few of the Counties are complete, but had a few voting precinct consolidations, or a couple heavily rural precincts with no voters, etc....

Kentucky- Counties with Precincts Reporting- 1/12/19 Update:

Added Wayne County.

107/120 Counties with Precincts Reporting.

Kentucky--- 2018 GE Counties with Precinct Reports- 12/26/18:

So just finished reviewing the Kentucky SoS website going through County by County to see if Counties are missing precinct results.

https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/KY/91996/220209/Web01/en/summary.html

Grab your County and a new window will pop up in your browser....

You will then see something like this...

Then click on the MAP and you will get something like this... (Scroll over the map for precinct by precinct). Some Counties have precinct results not available in a Map format, in which case click on the button that looks like a House and you will see precinct results for that County)

We are currently missing (14) Counties Precinct Results for 106/120 Complete.

Missing: McCracken, Marshall, Barren, Wayne, Woodford, Trimble, Bell, Owsley, Lee, Wolfe, Morgan, Elliot, Lewis, and Boyd.

At least we have all for KY-06, excepting Woodford County.

Massachusetts: 2018 GE Precinct Results--- 12/26/18 Update:

Adding MASS to the list of State Complete....

Creating a separate post for this, since the navigation can be a bit tricky, and I don't want to hog the main list of links and updates with giant screencaps....

So start here to search the archives....

http://electionstats.state.ma.us/

You will load this web page:

Enter your search criteria in the box on the bottom right (In this 2018 to 2018 All Offices, All Elections)....

Now you'll end up seeing a screen like this...

Now you'll want to narrow it down a bit (In this case I'm just looking for the 2018 GE results, and plan on grabbing the precinct data by race.... Still, I'll probably want to enhance my visual display while I'm navigating around).

Click the large orange search button on the Upper Left of your screen...

You will then be narrowed down to one election... now click on the Candidates button on the far right, and it will take you to the next screen:

Click on the "See Details for this election button on the bottom right"

You will end up seeing a page that looks like this (In this Case since it's a Statewide Election there are a whole bunch of Counties--- well not really since it is MASS, but you get the point...

See that Excel button on the Left-hand side "Download this Election" ?

You can chose to download by Municipality or by Precinct (I prefer the latter, but if any of y'all are Township Mapping, etc or just want to know how Boston or Fall River Voted, ok do it that way).

Now you should be gold and have a nice data-set for all of MASS that includes the equivalent of a full set of precinct results all in one small Excel file.

Enjoy!!!!

Rhode Island---- 2018 GE Precinct Results 12/26/18:

It looks like we can probably cross RI off the list of states missing precinct results....

https://www.ri.gov/election/results/2018/general_election/west_warwick/3801/

I had some major issues when pulling up 2016 PRES Data by place within RI (at a lower level than simply City / Town / Township), considering Trump's relatively strong performance in a DEM stronghold, but it looks like RI came through and rectified their Election Reporting website for the 2018 GE....

So although obviously I didn't go through every municipality to fully Vet their new reporting website, I did flip through a bit, and it looks like extremely thorough and quite easy to go through, since now you can simply select your City or Town, and then it pulls up a list of precincts, click on the precinct, and you get to see all of the Goodies with it.

In the case of the example above, West Warwick RI was I believe the largest City in RI to vote for Trump, and here is a random precinct "Clyde Towers"....

Now in theory, we can look at precinct results compare / contrast against '16 PRES (If results are available for Nov 16 now), match against Social Demographics if we can get good precinct maps, and start discussing where and why voters in certain parts of RI swung towards Trump and then back to the DEMs in '18 (Or whatever type of analysis you are looking for).

How cool is that???

I know we have a few resident RI experts floating around here, so let me know if there is any data missing in these precinct results....

Largest Counties by Population Still Missing Precinct Results (94/100 Precincts Reporting for the largest Population Centers)--- We need a full-blown Atlas Full Court Press to Obtain these Results:

This is completely unacceptable that we don't have detailed results for 6.5 Million People voting in 2018 in the largest population centers with decent tax base to support publication of these results....

1.) Suffolk County, New York---- Population 1.5 Million

2.) Nassau County, New York--- Population 1.4 Million

3.) Fairfield County, Connecticut--- Population 0.95 Million

4.) Hartford County, Connecticut--- Population 0.90 Million

5.) New Haven County, Connecticut--- Population 0.86 Million

6.) Monroe County, New York--- Population 0.75 Million

While we are at it (Not to pick on CT and NY Counties), let's go a bit further with the "name and shame game" and point fingers at some relatively large and affluent communities in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana....

I get that local Republican Administrations have played games to consolidate State Spending, Slashed social Services, and local election departments in many cases don't have the $$$ to support Governmental Services for poorer and rural Counties:

1.) Missourri--- Many Counties now don't even have a County website, and search results default to an "Association of MO Counties" BS website, with little other than a phone number.

2.) Texas has something similar, but rather a default County Web Template, that provides little data on anything other than a picture of their respective County Courthouse and a few tweaks on the links.

3.) Indiana--- Cross between TX and MO....

4.) Kansas--- I get that rural West KS can't support funding for a comprehensive County level website, but I expect better in some of the larger Metro Areas and Medium Sized Cities....

TEXAS:

1.) Cameron County--- Pop 0.42 Million

2.) Galveston County--- Pop 0.31 Million

3.) Midland County--- Pop 0.16 Million

4.) Ector County---- Pop 0.15 Million

5.) Guadalupe County: Pop 0.15 Million

I could roll through the numbers of Tejas Counties not yet reporting, but right here we have 1.25 Million folks whose ballots are not yet counted, with Millions of more Texans Votes not yet available in detailed breakdown....

Missouri:

1.) St. Charles County--- Pop 0.38 Million

2.) Jasper County--- Pop 0.12 Million

3.) Platte County--- Pop 0.095 Million

We could go further, but right here a population of over 600k aren't seeing their results properly reported....

Indiana:

1.) St Joseph County--- Pop 0.27 Million

2.) Vanderburgh County--- Pop 0.19 Million

3.) Hancock County: Pop 0.072 Million

Kansas:

1.) Shawnee County--- Pop 0.18 Million

2.) Wyandotte County--- Pop 0.16 Million

3.) Leavenworth County--- Pop 0.80 Million

This is a national disgrace, almost two Months after the election that we don't have transparency on these results....

Maryland does not allocate early vote by precinct. The precinct results are strictly the election day vote.

Thanks LeRaposa !!!

That is a very important point, and something to keep an eye out for elsewhere when looking at precinct level data.

It is one of my biggest pet peeves that various State and County Election Offices do not break these numbers down into a precinct level format, and one that I have encountered in Multiple States and Counties over the Years.

Perhaps one of the most annoying items about Maryland, is that unlike many other States, they don't create a 000 precinct (or whatever numbering convention) that at least bundles those together for the County, so when we need to try to "reverse engineer" estimated breakdowns by precincts at least they can show up as a line item on a Pivot Table that flags the numbers so we can separate the actual precinct results from the "Early Voting / Absentee Precinct".

This is part of the reason that all State and Local Election Boards and Offices should be required to publish comprehensive precinct level canvass reports, as part of Citizen Transparency and Visibility and help prevent Election Fraud and Foreign Actors that might attempt to manipulate US Election Results....

As the recent incidents in NC-09 have demonstrated, Election Fraud is still a reality in 2018 America, although not in the form of Illegal Voters being bused to polling Sites, as some fake news organizations and political figures have recent claimed.

In my mind, the more eyes on detailed election results the better, and having a "slush bucket" of voters not assigned to any precinct in official reports, makes it much more difficult to discern any potential variances, since in the days of the internet, it is much easier for individual citizens, political scientists, news organizations, and others to access data that used to be much more difficult to obtain.

It would cost relative pennies to the Federal Government, provide jobs in many struggling rural communities across America (Vast majority of which are Republican), and perhaps most importantly help strengthen one of the fundamental core innovations of American Democracy: The Right to Vote, which grew out of Jacksonian Democracy, and gradually expanded to include the Right to Vote for Women, and finally the breaking of the Apartheid Jim Crow regime of the Deep South.

Meanwhile, some Republicans still complain of alleged voters being taken out of the Graveyards of Chicago to win the 1960 US-PRES election under Mayor Daley to "Steal" the 1960 PRES election, in many rural parts of the Deep South to this day local close elections might be viewed with suspicion, even if both folks running for "County Dogcatcher" are Registered Republicans.

I digress, but yeah I'm really glad you pointed this out for those that might download the results from MD and take them as Gospel without double-checking against County Level Total Votes....

5/24/19 Oregon Update:

All Oregon data is now available on one statewide location....

https://sos.oregon.gov/elections/Pages/electionhistory.aspx

*** Go the Right-hand Site and pull a Zip file November 2018 Precinct Level...  this will download a file, which you can then open by County for all 36/36 Counties.

Most of these are in a PDF file format with a few exceptions (Joesephine and Multnomah Counties available in Excel) so I will be leaving up the Oregon post with individual County links for now until I review the list to see which Counties have other file formats that might be more receptive to adding into Excel or other easy to work with from a data sorting perspective.

I haven't gone through and reviewed missing Counties in other States yet with precinct returns, since I was starting to hit the point of diminishing returns, but maybe I'll have a few Hours this Holiday Weekend to see if more stuff has popped up since I last did a major search.

I'm actually amazed that although I haven't located or aggressively searched out new precinct results posted by state election offices in quite a few Months, that somehow there are something like 10k additional views since I last looked.

Apparently it is a raw data election archive (as I intended when I started the thread), and if any of y'all out there find any updates for areas you are researching, I will update some of the Master List (Or taking suggestions for cleanup work).

Much appreciated that the 100+  Hours I spent working on this is proving useful for Atlas research projects (as well as that of external visitors that do not post).
