From the time I got up Saturday, I have had near continuous chest pain of varying severity. This reached its worst point Sunday evening and Monday morning, so I went to the emergency room. I spent over six hours there and with that I got both good news and bad news.

The good news is that they did several tests and my heart is in good condition or so they say. This has shifted their focus to my lungs and their presumptive diagnoses is inflammation of the left lung caused by exposure to extremely cold environment (short periods of auditing overstock bins in the deep freezer at work). I would also posit that the humidity and heat exposes it to an opposite problematic extreme. It has eased, but it has not gone away. I have been proscribed medication and referred to a specialist for further testing on my lungs. This was what my primary care doctor wanted me to do last year after I had covid and the lingering chest/lung issues that it caused, but getting an appointment at the time was rather problematic obviously and then the issues with my primary care doctor moving offices caused further delays as well.

Lord Yankee I hope you are well and you persist. Best wishes.

Seems the medication also has side effects, including dizziness and nausea. So taking them at work is rather impossible and that is when I would need them the most.

That last hour or so at work was painful last night, but with the medication dosage dropping and it nearing the time for me to take it again (midnight or so), I guess this shouldn't be a surprise. The humidity really irritates whatever this is, but it is mostly just pain, it doesn't cause a breathing or wheezing issues, at least so far.
Best of luck.
