This one turned out to be much milder then some of the worst case scenarios were talking about. NWS even backed off forecasting flood stage for the river because the rain fall ended up being much lower than expected.

Press Release -

I have just conducted a full Senate update and I request that all the current Senators make an effort to review those threads and contribute to advancing the discussions in those threads. As I said earlier we have a good bit of work to get done this session and early next session before the silly season starts with the Presidential Election and people start to lose focus. It is my hope that we can get people on task and start off solid with the start of the new session by hitting the ground running of course.

Naturally vital to this is the confirmation of an active and competent Vice President and I look forward to the pick that President Pericles makes in the coming days. While I am not sure whether Vice President Sestak, whose resignation doesn't take effect until the confirmation of a successor, will be able to administer the hearing or not I stand ready to do so if necessary when the time comes. When it comes to the confirmation process, there are two vitally important priorities. To begin with we need to make sure that the nominee chosen is qualified, active and competent and will be able to hit the ground running, but of course I stand ready to help the new Vice President transition in once confirmed. Secondly, we must move expeditiously to get the confirmation done well before the start of the new session. I have confidence that both of these objectives can be achieved.

I will also make a cautionary note that while many would already be measuring drapes, the President is still the President and for the good of the country in this pandemic we must work with the President to deal with the crisis and other issues over the course of the coming months. Also for the sake of legislative process, the expeditious yet thorough confirmation of a VP is vital to that and therefore I would strongly urge my colleagues to resist partisan urges and focus again on those two priorities stated above: Competence and expeditious consideration for the sake of the Congressional system and its functionality.

Just to bring everyone up to speed, as I posted in the well being thread in Forum Community, I was officially tested positive on Wednesday, two days before Christmas. The period leading up to Christmas was defined by chest congestion being at its worst and lack of energy/fatigue. The latter has continued but since Christmas it has moved to being more of a sinus congestion, sinus pressure situation with less frequent chest tightness and so on.

I have generally spent the period since my positive test resting and trying to recover faster, also to ensure that Christmas was not a complete 2017 style disaster and thankfully it went rather well actually.

My days generally have been rather short and the days where I get the most sleep tend to be the ones that I do best on, whereas those days that I do worse like Wednesday where I got tested, and the necessities of getting tested meant limited sleep and exposure to the morning cold were contributing factors to that being so much worse.

One big concern is that with the drive in testing sites getting swarmed, I am very much concerned about the logistics of getting tested again and then if I am still positive having to go through that process again after that as those days I get so little sleep and the morning air just wreaks havoc on my symptoms.

That being said I do plan to get back towards the normal swing of things on here over the next day or so.

It seems to come in valleys and peaks and the worst days come when I have attempted to get tested or retested. The shut down two testing sites, three if you count county health because of the holiday period, and beyond that there is only one or two other facilitates doing testing and these of course got buried. I drove 20 minutes away only to be told they didn't have a lab tech at that one site so they weren't doing any testing and all appointments were cancelled. Yesterday ended up being rather bad and today I woke up with the chest congestion like I had before Christmas.

I have found myself sleeping upwards of 12 hours a day, usually between midnight and noon, and then by six or 8 I end up worn out again and struggling to get through my nightly routine to get to bed. I have thus found myself doing the things I would normally be doing between 8 and ten, between 4 and 6 in the evening.

To add a note of caution, not once during this process have I posted a temperature higher than 98 range.

The fatigue seems to attack various weak joints and thus previous problematic areas like my right knee and lower back hurt like hell periodically and this was especially the case last night and made getting to sleep rather difficult.

Yesterday between like say 6 and 9 PM, was probably the closest I came to the "felt like a train run over me" effect that people describe. Once it subsided though I felt fine and then was not able to fall asleep until like 4 AM. Everything just ached so severely during that stretch and then just subsided. I am just about at two weeks since exposure and some symptoms have receded while others seem to be worse.

I tested negative for Covid today, and am planning to return to work on Wednesday. I still have the fatigue and muscle aches though they are not as bad today as they were the last few days, but this thing has surprised me before when I thought it was done. They said this could last for several more days before I am back to normal.

Congrats! The one time in a person's life when more negativity is a good thing.

Hope all the leftover symptoms resolve themselves soon.

Appears I may have pushed myself too hard going back to work on the sixth and seventh. By the end of the shift on the 7th I had the chest pain/tightness back.

First I've seen on this, hope you're feeling better soon.

It might be good to wait another week or so before returning to work to give your body time to rest, and find a pulse oximeter to keep an eye on your oxygen levels as extra precaution.

I am kind of in limbo work wise. Not on paid leave but also not reactivated either. This worries me a lot and part of the reason why I went back when I did was concerns about this process, but it is a complete mess and completely overwhelmed with Covid.

That being said I am beginning to worry about my ability to work my present job with these lingering symptoms. Its very physically intensive and I felt fine before I went back but since Thursday, I have been almost continuously facing at least some kind of chest tightness or congestion.

This is getting concerning, so I have scheduled a doctor's appointment tomorrow and hopefully that will help provide some clarity on my present symptoms and some guidance on how to proceed going forward.

The chest congestion and cough are back now and it will have been 5 weeks since exposure this Friday.

Are you in any Facebook Groups for long COVID? I've heard this is a relatively common thing for people who had bad cases.
