Press Release.

While I am pleased with the progress and work being made, it is to be expected that there would some difficulties in getting this done. While we lack some of the problems in real life that would hinder the chambers from progressing, we at the same time have a medium limitation as well as the fact that while RL events could mean some people are more available, for others the RL situation being as grave as it is poses a severe threat. Now that the RL Phase 3 bill is done, I think we have better sense of scope, areas that need to be covered and what has to be done now to get the stimulus and small business bills over the finish line.

I have provided my advise on several fronts on the Covid caucus, including the areas where I have pounded the drum on IRL. I was talking about in RL context surging production via DPA, I think two weeks ago now. It seems like ten years ago. I urged the President to take action on this front and I am pleased that they have. I also encouraged action on price gouging both in the regions and at the federal level. I think Fremont has taken action and the Federal gov't have or will soon take action on this front. I have been adamant that the only way to win this is through production. Ventilators are life boats for a small percentage of the population whose conditions, age or just sheer luck have put them on a proverbial Titanic. We posses in our country the ability to produce the resources in vast quantities both for ourselves and the world to be able to give the people at the "front", everything they need to contain and eliminate the virus with the minimal amounts of lost lives. That includes ventilators, PPE, Testing Kits and everything else that is necessary.

The front in this case is manned by our first responders, doctor's, nurses and other medical professionals. We also have to be mindful of the people out there who are at risk both in the medical profession and beyond. Truck drivers, railroad workers, retail associates, power crews, phone and internet technicians and many other providers of essential services that have to be maintained even as many others work from home or are unable to work at all. They are all the heroes of the hour in this situation.

I understand the concerns about this from a fiscal conservative standpoint, and I understand the concern from a capitalism standpoint. What DPA enables to be done is provide an up front contract and a guaranteed payoff for a select number of a certain product with delivery by a certain date. It allows for the startup capital and labor costs to be provided and it allows for the supply chain management to be setup with the logistics taken into account. To pull this off, you need to put together a consortium of labor, business, Army Corps of Engineers, various regulatory agencies and medical experts, get them together and allow for them to clear the roadblocks all at once. If there is a delay, you identify it and find a way to minimize it or reduce it. Maybe that requires huge team of people led by military to go in and rebuild or retrofit something and maybe you have to waive various restrictions on permitting, environment and labor and such to get it done. But you break though the log jams and get the production rolling quickly. The up front contracting gives certainty and while we may end up with too much, we can send that to other countries as they face the virus and stockpile some of it in case there is a second wave god forbid.

I have the utmost respect for those who are concerned about the Constitution. I am concerned about the constitution too, but I am also concerned about what it means for a constitution when a desperate mass of people seek answers only to be denied in the name of the constitution. Historically, that has not worked out well for the Constitution or freedom as people will turn to extremists out of desperation. It is therefore incumbent on people who do respect our institution, to utilize the means at their disposable to alleviate such discontent before it can pose a threat. You do that by making the system work towards improving those conditions, not have be or be seen as the hindrance to that.

Press Release -

I have introduced the House's small business bill sponsored by Cinyc into the Senate to expedite the passage process on that since we dealt with that separately from the big stimulus bill unlike IRL and while that bigger bill has passed, we cannot allow the small business to languish or be forgotten in this process.

Just some notes about a few things. While some things have been delayed or stretched out longer than I would like, it is my hope to make sure that things that have to get done are accomplished and this goes for the Senate, which I just updated things on and also for the Fed convention, which I have not forgotten about.

Right now, as I am sure is the case with most of you, a lot of my attention has been sapped by the Covid19 outbreak, not just following the latest news on it in real life, but also living with its impacts in real life. I work in retail, as a stocker and have been on the front lines of the massive wave of panic buying, which has now given way to intense restrictions on social distancing and other practices. For an example, the gloves they provide us have no durability and they rip/tear easily so, I have taken to wearing my hardware gloves over them and they leave my hands feeling like balloons after just two hours since they don't have any air flow at all.

Keep in mind that I can only access discord from my Windows Seven Computer and a lot of the time, if I am in a hurry especially, I will only use the XP machine to quickly get on an make posts, so if something requires my urgent notice, best to PM me in case I don't get on discord for a few days. Normally, I would have been on during Saturday evening, but various things I had to do precluded it, I don't like to get on there after I get home because I have a tendency to not get off until way too late and thus leave me with too little sleep for work.

Probably won't be on Atlas much the next 24 hours or at least that is my hope, for reasons that should be rather obvious (if such is not, it should be from viewing my profile). The recent swath of motions were perfectly timed so I can address them at the end of said period. Don't kill each other, and don't destroy something I like, that would be like the rudest thing ever!

This game is supposed to be fun and yet every time I get on discord, I get stressed out to the point of getting sick. I don't need or want that sh**t in my life.

I don't have the patience to watch the LFromNJ remake of the "Let's take our toys and go home" movie that I have already seen 15 god damn times.

Nothing like doing Senate stuff in my phone to make me question my life choices. How do you guys do this on these things?

Just went through all of the Senate threads. Rather concerned by the lack of responses to my previous postings as I was the last post in most of them and some of them were 3 days or more old.

More concerning then that is this tropical storm is taking a path very similar Matthew and that could pose severe risk even as a tropical storm for inland flooding, power outages and historically speaking, internet outages lasting several days.

In such cases, YE and Sestak have authority make procedural advances in my Senate bills and LT is fully authorized to handle any urgent procedural actions in the convention. I don't want to hear afterwards people whining on discord because nobody knew what to do. I clearly stated all important priorities to be pushed forward on last Tuesday and those still stand as such.

I feel like that all the time, actually.
