I’m in the minority but the way she handled losing will put her in a favorable light with Arizonans.

Her being named the replacement makes this seat from Lean D to Tossup
Lol, your concern trolling got old already.

LOL.

She lost because she run as McTrump and Arizona hates Trump.

If appointed, she would have to run with Trump at the top of the ticker.

How is it possible for one man to be so awful? I say that because, even though McSally isn't the worst Arizona Republican, it demonstrates a blatant disregard for Arizona's voters who just rejected her.

If this takes Ducey out of contention completely then I'm fine with it. Dems can beat McSally but I'm doubtful they can beat Ducey if he decides tor run, I know he'd be basically handing the Governorship to Hobbs. But a Senate seat > Governorship if Kyl stays there will be strong pressure for Ducey to run.

It doesn't look good to have an election loser appointed immediately afterward. This is not a good idea for the AZ GOP.

Saying that Arizona hates Trump is pretty hilarious.

Trumps JA according to Exits was 50/48.

They only do earlies and day voters for the Exit Poll. You dont get the heavily Democratic ballots from those, and since McSally dropped a total of 4 points because of it, you can assume that Trump either has a tied or negative approval in the state.

As a dem, I think Ducey should appoint Joe Arpaio to the seat. McSally had her shot, but America’s sheriff hasn’t had his opportunity to shine. He could easily win the 2020 primary, and even if he loses the general at least AZ republicans got a real conservative for a year or so

Exit polls rely heavily on election day voters.

3/4 of Arizona voters vote early.

Election day voters lean more Republican than early voters.

Yeah, I can’t imagine what world this would be a good political move in. The voters literally just rejected her.

You know what will put her in a negative light with Arizonans?

Basically begging for the seat while McCain was still alive.

What I don't understand here is why the National GOP is so enamoured with McSally. It's not like she's a particularly strong candidate, so why are they so desperate to get her into the Senate?

Ducey dropped out of contention the moment Dems won the SOS race, since the SOS acts as the lt. gov in Arizona when it comes to succession.

because she is one of them. Ducey should replace Kyl with Ward (to make it Likely R) or Arpaio (to make it Safe R).

I agree. Hopefully Ward does win the nomination

Some piss poor troll job when he votes with Trump 99% of the time

So? We can't change this either. Ducey won't appoint a Dem, lol.

So you want Arizona to have two Democratic Senators? Ward would probably lose even in a red wave, lol.

With McCain’s replacement likely to leave, GOP is split over appointing this year’s loser in Senate race

I told you so that Ducey isn't running in 2020

http://ktar.com/story/2338497/arizona-gov-ducey-promises-to-finish-term-wont-run-for-senate-in-2020/

Safe to say now that Ducey will likely run for Senate in 2022 especially should there be a Demoratic President in 2020. Then the whole Senate Map in 2022 becomes much more favorable for Republicans.

Of course he won't run. He'd be replaced by a Democrat.

Why not Arpaio? After all, according to the post you replied to he would make it Safe R (despite doing worse in Maricopa than statewide in the primary).
