The selection of a mere state senator from an unwinnable state would be seen as a curious move by the MSM and the Establishment, not to mention only add to the Republican's amazingly hypocritical message that Beto has no experience. It would however give the Beto campagin a bully pulbit that could try and reinspire Democrats in southwest PA, southwest Virginia, and a great deal of Ohio. The goal would not be to win these areas that swung R in 2016 and '18, but to prevent Trump from getting the massive landslide margins he needs to counter Philly and maybe Cincy/Columbus/Cleveland.
