Remember -- the latest polls happen in the wake of some fanatical Trump supporter sending pipe bombs to a bunch of Democrats and a neo-Nazi mowing down Jews in a synagogue in Pittsburgh. Two horrible acts of domestic terrorism have gotten inept responses from the President.
Bill Clinton handled the bombings of the World Trade Center and the Murrah federal building well. Obama did well in dealing with tornadoes and hurricanes, even stopping his campaigning to coordinate aid with a Republican Governor in 2012.
The House and Senate elections have become by default referenda on the President.
