Any suggestions who is going to be TIME's 2018 person of the year? I think these five may have the best shot:

- Jeff Bezos
- Kim Jong Un and/or Moon Rae-in
- Brett Kavanough
- Jair Bolsonaro

I'd vote for Bolsonaro, although I strongly disagree with everything this guy stands for and condemn his behavior.

The list is essentially the most relevant person to the American audience of the Time magazine. I wouldn’t put Jair Bolsonaro now, maybe later depending on how extreme his policies are.

On being disagreeable, remember that Ayatollah Khoimeini won in 1979.

It won't be Kavanaugh, since TIME has a policy of the winner being remembered for "positive behavior", so Kavanaugh won't get it until he's at least written a few opinions.

My list is:
Donald Trump (two out three years would be really impressive)

Nancy Pelosi (Especially if Democrats take back the House, TIME might pick her as a foil to Trump)

Mohammed Bin Salman (If TIME wants someone with a negative slant on news, MBS is a better pick than Boisanaro or Kavanaugh, especially is Saudi Arabia is still a U.S ally, which is likely at this point)

Michael Avenatti (He's probably been the most visible tormentor of Trump this year)

Khashoggi might be a good pick. Did they ever posthumously pick someone? I don't see that many other candidates to be honest.

It should be Bolsonaro, but I wouldn't be surprised if they picked Ford.

TIME would probably do something like "The Women of America" or in that vein if Democrats do well in the midterms.

Angela Merkel

Even though  she is on her way out now, she has exemplified courage and leadership, some even calling her the Leader of the Free World, since Donald Trump has abdicated that role.

Chuck Schumer

For his courageous leadership in a valiant effort to prevent the confirmation of liar Kavanaugh.

A long shot, Mitt Romney

For making a remarkable political comeback, which will happen in the 2018 mid terms when he wins the Utah Senate election.

Another long shot, Stacey Abrams

The first black female Governor in United States history, when she wins the Governorship of Georgia in the 2018 mid terms.

Rather bold assumption.

It was about left-wing women last year already.

It should be Moon Jae In for his efforts on peace in Korea.

The latter two also seem reasonable choices for this title.

Rather bold assumption.

Stacey Abrams had the election stolen from her by the Republicans and their manipulation of the election process in Georgia and by their voter suppression tactics.

After all, having Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, the Republican candidate for Governor, in charge of the election, is like the fox guarding  the hen house.

Considering the blue wave was more of a bump. The "pink wave" on both sides was real, this is the most likely scenario.

Sadly, Bolsanaro is probably the most appropriate pick. Maybe Xi Jinping, but he made most of his power moves last year.

Actually Robert Mueller is a strong possibility that hasn't been mentioned.

TIME naming Mueller Person of the Year, would get Mueller's investigation forcibly shut down almost immediately.

Trump might even have Mueller arrested, all because his ego bruised.

Mueller is only likely if he indicts Jared, Junior, or someone similarly high up in the next few weeks. In order of likelihood, I would say:

1) "The women of America" or some similar abstract
2) Christine Blassey Ford
3) Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (putting her above the others because it's likely they'll want to pick a woman this year)
4) Brett Kavanaugh
5) Jamal Kashoggi or some abstract related to journalists

Fairly certain it won't be Bolsonaro, Xi, or another foreign leader, given that the U.S. media has mostly been focused on domestic issues this year. Merkel was already PoY in 2015, so selecting her again so soon is even more unlikely.
