There's something I don't get.
1. Operation Carwash was popular for exposing corruption
2. Dilma for a long time kept the investigation going even when it was targeting her own party, even though she could have shut it down
3. She was never directly implicated herself in knowing about corruption. The worst thing she did was agree to shield Lula very late in the process.
4. The political establishment got so mad at her they impeached her.
Given all this, shouldn't she have been some hero to the people, for supporting the investigation? Why was she unpopular? In retrospect it seems she committed political suicide.
Dilma failed to bring prosperity during the World Cup, a really bad time. So anything bad dealing with PT was blamed on her. Along with Dilma’s failure, the Impeachment really was mainly a right wing hit job.job
