This is about where Feingold was in 2016.

No, WI-SEN was much closer at this point in 2016.

Yep, that race was trending Republican in the last few weeks. This race has held steady.

If Beto were to win, it would resemble WI-PRES 2016 more, which didn't show much tightening. Don't think it happens, but I'm not going to categorically rule it out at this point. Likely R.

They found Cruz up 9 in their last two polls, so it seems the race is back to being about a 5-6% lead for Cruz, but it's probably too late for Beto to make up the gap.

Agree. It's a great poll for Beto considering the previous one, but he doesn't have what it takes to win.

It's not that Beto doesn't have what it takes- no Texas Democrat would've done better than him- it's that the voters of Texas, sadly, still don't have what it takes.

This is pretty accurate. The Texas GOP voters who didn't vote, or if they did it was reluctantly, for Trump tend to be torn (in my opinion) between not having any love for Cruz and wanting to spite the activist and Tumblr wings of the Democratic Party.

Then you have the Tea-Party base that has slowly shifted into becoming the new establishment in Texas. They would likely vote for nuclear winter before they would vote Democratic.
