Note from the Author: Yes, another one. Took me a while to find a suitable subject, particularly as an attempt to adapt the 2014 Conflict ended up not being satisfactory. So this is a War of the Roses inspired project telling the tale of DFW - with his permission - and the struggles of several Houses for the throne of Atlasia. Another harmless exercise on creativity.

"The Death of Kings"

Reuental Media Group is pleased to announce that upon the success and subsequent re-runs of The Convention, production on further media representations of Atlasian History has been given the greenlight. A nominal sequel to The Convention, The Death of Kings is a musical thematically inspired by Shakespeare’s War of the Roses plays, seeking to tell the story of the political career of former President DFW and the political struggles he fought on within a more fantastical and medieval presentation.

Portraying key events in Atlasian political life from January 2017 to October 2018, The Death of Kings begins at the onset of the reign of Old King Yankee – of the House of Yankee -, elected by the Atlasian nobility after a complex succession crisis. The young and ambitious DFW, Lord of the Southern Marches covets the throne of Atlasia, and is convinced that he is up for such a task even as the rival House of Griffin reassembles its forces and prepares to contest the throne once against. The long and bloody tale of Lord DFW will take us across his road to the throne (Act I), his reign (Act II), his fall (Act III), redemption (Act IV) and revival (Act V), closing off with an Epilogue relevant to very recent events.

Rather than aspire to some degree of accuracy like The Convention, TDoK will be best understood as an imaginative portrayal of a series of political struggles which oversaw the rise and fall of the mighty House of Yankee, the dynasty which once believed it might govern the Atlasian Kingdom for years and years before a stunning, untimely defeat.
