Depends. If they beat Trump in 2020 and the economy goes into recession before 2021 or Trump is re elected, then the next President serves 2. If Trump loses despite a strong economy, then the next President is likely a one termer.

This.  It all depends on whether the stock market correction comes.

There's also the 1920's scenario-the boom continues straight into 2025 or 2026 and gets Pence or Haley elected, but the fallout from a crash if things have stayed good that long would all but ensure 3+ Dem terms in a row after that.  A polite version of Trump would probably have 2/3rds approval in this economy, given how Hogan and Baker are polling in extremely blue states.

Right now, I'm actually thinking 1-termer, probably the 1920's scenario, particularly if Dems get the House by a wide margin and hold it through the 2020's.  Trump and a Dem House would likely do massive rural-focused stimulus if the economy gets wobbly after 2019.

The Senate map 2020, 2022 and 2024 are all daunting for the GOP, should 2018 be a tsunami for the GOP. That's why Dems can have 54 Senators in 2018 and break the 60 vote thresehold by 2020 or 2022.

One. No Question. The person who succeeds Trump either in 2020 or 2024 will be (1) radically left and (2) almost indefinitely have a safe Democratic senate and house of representatives, especially after the 2018 and 2020 elections. The country will reject the major corporate tax hikes when millions lose their jobs and stocks lose as much value as the Great Recession. Abolished border and immigration laws as well as liberal social identity politics constantly going into law will be swiftly rejected as well.

I have no doubt that the Democrat replacing Trump will be far left and the experiment of electing fringe candidates (Trump and lefty) will be replaced with a traditional conservative.

Lol. This post just shows that you dont understand how left policy works. Its literally impossible to have open borders and a welfare state. And lets not forget the people who were at fault for the last recession, hint - they werent the lefties.

It depends on quality. After Trump, just about anyone will look good for a time.

I want to believe. I really want to. But most likely we'll have 8 years of Trump, 8 years of some AOC clone, 4 years of Richard Spencer and 8 years of whatever is left of Bernie Sanders in 2036. This is the world we live in.

Imagine writing this and thinking you were onto something and not spewing rehashed, resold right-wing garbage.

If a Dem is elected prez in 2020, he or she is likely to serve two full terms. Possibly the outgoing VP is the successor and a one-termer similar to Reagan/Bush.

This depends entirely on when the next recession and/or the next war occur.
