I don't think anyone has any idea what Nelson's ceiling is in a Florida that looks ready to elect Gillum as governor by a heavy margin.

Yeah. IIRC, Nelson never polled as highly as +13 against Cornelius McGillicuddy IV but he hit that anyway. Obviously he likely won’t win by as much against Scott, but no one really knows

Quinnipiac's final 2012 poll actually had him up exactly 13 points. They also had Obama up 1 point. A perfect margin for both races simultaneously...which is pretty rare, to say the least.

Yeah, Nelson is pulling away.   Not much time left for Scott to turn things around either.

Cue Lawrence O'Donnell committing a whole show to how this makes the Senate safe D. Tongue

I remember him doing that back in 2016 over a Targetsmart poll that showed Clinton leading by 7. I'm still considering this race a tossup in order to curb any disappointment I might face. But there have recently been a lot of favorable polls for Nelson. That can't be ignored. Florida might finally be becoming sane this year...might.

A whole lot of junk polls in the mix here.

SUSA at +8 for Nelson is the poll I'd trust out of this dog's breakfast, might be a tad high, but pretty sure Nelson is ahead.

We will see if the Gilliam corruption thing reels Florida back in for the GOP, but it's likely just a one day story that will get killed and fade away and will have minimal lasting impact.

It's an unintended consequence of the Trump presidency... it's hard to make a story like "free Hamilton tickets" stick when there is so much worse happening, in full view, every day with the President and most of his Cabinet members. The same dynamic is helping Menendez, too.

If Scott loses by more than Rosendale or Morrisey, maybe people will start to realize that candidate quality can only get you so far.
