Submitting more than one party primary for the same office in a single year

Is it possible to submit more than one party primary election for the same office in a single year? For example, when there is a special Senate election the same year as a regular senate election. When I tried to do so for the primaries for the Minnesota special Senate election I got an error message that an election had already been submitted under this name.
