Does anyone know who "Georgia Democrat in 2021" is? I had them on Ignore but I have no idea why. It was probably an accident because I rarely put people on ignore. I just took them off Ignore

mollybecky. As far as I know he's a middle-aged Catholic guy from Georgia and if I recall correctly he used to be a Republican. He used to be pretty bullish on Biden.
Fairly easy to confuse with GeorgiaModerate to be honest.

It's fascinating that many of our D-GA avatars used to be more conservative than they are now. GWBFan used to be a Bush/McCain-loving blue avatar who lurched to the left over the years and became a Democrat in 2016. GeorgiaModerate had a green avatar until recently iirc (hence "Moderate"). Adam Griffin and Bacon King have always been Democrats, but I think someone said they also became more liberal over time.

I went through my list and counted users by avatar color (as best as I could remember) and got this

Red: 9
Blue: 7
Light green: 3
Orange: 2
no avatar: 2
Beige: 1
Maroon: 1
Dark green: 1
Yellow: 0

And I'm pretty sure several of the blues are just variations of Coolface and Greedo accounts. Seems to fly in the face of the "ignore button is for shielding pussies from contrary opinions" posts or whatever (not that that opinion was ever sincerely held, anyway). Turns out, there are just a lot of really dumb, rude, or completely white-noise posters here that many of us don't want to have to waste time scrolling through!

You do realize you're not all that representative of the average partisan red avatar, right? You're not even a red avatar (I know you're a Democrat/leftie, but still). Most of the ignore lists in this thread are made up of right-wing posters. Now, it's possible the average blue avatar (this includes trolls/bad faith posters) is actually substantially worse than the average red avatar, and I don't think we should obsess over other people's ignore lists, but your own ignore list does virtually nothing to prove your point.


As for my ignore list, I clicked on "Hide posts by ignored users more thoroughly," and hopefully I won't see a single SnowLabrador post from now on. I never clicked "show post" anyway.
