CraneHusband.  This guy just follows me around from thread to thread to post insults.

Honestly just gonna start blocking all the GMA reply guys, there's a new one every few months and they're just so tiresome.

Other than that I still have Olawakandi blocked, and GoTFan, who I'm pretty sure is too young to be on this forum given how he behaves.  And a few people who were really obnoxious the night of the 2020 election -- SN2903, LordRottenlog, 7sergi9, I don't remember the latter two.

Ugh, all his Yang replies became tiresome after a while. He was still a nice person in all my dealings with him but a hack, yeah.

Sure he was fairly decent sort of chap but his hackery defied belief.  A Yang surge was always just around the corner, Obama was certain to endorse Yang and he could rattle off paragraphs of Yang policies as soon as anybody suggested that maybe Yang didn't have much policy beyond UBI.  Once Yang dropped out he was certain to be Biden's running mate and when that didn't happen then Biden was doomed to defeat with Yang certain to pick up the pieces in 2024.

How anybody cam have so much admiration and confidence in a person (let alone a politician) is beyond me.  But then I hate nearly all politicians.

There's a lot of people here whose week it seems is completely ruined if an opinion they don't 100% agree with dares to cross their line of sight.

Nah, it's not that; I'm pretty thick-skinned.  There are two main reasons I use the Ignore list without hesitation:

1. I have a finite amount of time and attention to expend in any given day.  When people demonstrate that their posts are consistently of too little value for me to waste my time, they go on Ignore so I don't waste it.

2. Some people are just trolling.  While I do appreciate some clever, entertaining, or amusing trollish posts, most trolls do not meet this standard.  They're just doing it for attention, and I don't wish to reward them by providing it.   Anyone who has raised small children should understand this.

This policy isn't new for me or specific to this forum.  Even back in the Usenet days, I was quick to plonk people.

Agreed. The people on my ignore list are just hackish and deliberately irritating or misleading. I might be wrong about them, but that's how they came to me.

I agree. I had MrKanyeWest briefly in ignore because his posts are often over my head, but then I figured that was my problem and not his.

Rather than ignore people, I stay out of threads I don't care for like all the election threads where I know people are going to be absolutely certain in their predictions when it's not really rational to be so certain.

If you want a laugh, take a look at OC’s posts regarding religion and genealogy. He always goes on about cavemen and dwarfism in them for some odd reason.

Nobody. Had a few people with obnoxious sigs on ignore for a while, but decided to just turn sigs off and clear the list.

I just use adblock for that stuff, most often when their picture's taking up half the page.
